“Yeah, for the most part.  Looks like a couple were already checked out but nothing that we desperately need.” 

He looked over at her in concern.  She wasn’t as jumpy as other girls would be given the situation but it was obvious that the whole thing with Dolohov left her shaken.  

Ludo reached a hand out and placed it on her arm with a small smile.  “You sure you want to work on all of this now?  I’m sure now that we have the books the rest will fall into place.”  If it came down to it, he could cover a lot of the project on his own.  It wouldn’t be ideal but it would take some of the stress off of Emma.  “You just seemed to be in your own world when I came back.”

Once he had touched her arm, she made sure she didn’t flinch. The forced kissing was one thing, but she never told him about the classroom. About how there were little mentions of worse intentions; how she did use a hex on Dolohov -- of course that should’ve been justified by the circumstances.

Returning the small smile, she replied. “Maybe you’re right... I’m sure we can manage later?” However when Ludo brought up about her being off in her thoughts, Emma shrugged. She obviously wasn’t sure how to say it -- or what to say, even -- but she had to say something.

     “There’s a lot going on, is all. First with Dolohov, now with the dance coming up...”

After everything that had been happening, Emma took little notice of the Ball coming up soon. That was, however, until she kept hearing people talk of it. And the King and Queen nominations - she supposed she should go. Especially since she was one of the candidates for the Queen title.

Besides maybe it would make her forget about recent events. A good distraction; she loved getting dressed up, so it’d be perfect. Or well as perfect as it can get.

But at the sound of books hitting the library table, Emma looked up - coming out of her own thoughts. Right now, she had a project to work on with Ludo; any dance related topics would have to wait. Unless he wanted to talk about it, that is.

     “Did you find them?”

{ Beauty and the Beast };

Who: Emma Vanity, Antonin Dolohov.

When/Where: Evening in an abandoned classroom.

Warning(s): Abuse, rape mention (nothing happens, but just to be safe).

Walking down the empty corridor, Emma couldn’t help herself to brisk walk. It wasn’t that she had been concerned with running into a prefect— even though that would’ve been annoying. All she wanted was to get to her dorm. She wanted to forget what happened previously. She wanted to just sleep for the night. The girl wasn’t used to this and it was no secret she didn’t like it.

As she continued her journey in near darkness, she was almost there. Now, Emma wasn’t one to scare easily - yet the moment she heard the extra footsteps, she froze. Her mind told her to push forward yet her legs wouldn’t budge. Without second thought, Emma was pulled into a nearby abandoned classroom. Not knowing what was happening, she wanted to speak aloud. That wasn’t the best decision, especially after the incantation of ‘Colloportus’ and a quick silencing charm around the room.

It was Dolohov. Did he find out she told people what he did? Did he come to whatever senses he had left to apologise? Sadly, it had been the first of the two and now once more, Emma found herself in an unwanted position dealing with him.

       “Now I like to think I’m a... reasonable guy,”

Emma was still as he spoke - not wanting to know where this was going. It wasn’t okay in no circumstance. Noticing her silence and lack of movement, Dolohov reached into the girls’ robes to pull out her wand. Just as an insurance she wouldn’t do what he didn’t want her to.

       “You can’t go around telling people. I’ll get in trouble, then I can’t play Quidditch.”

Of course he knew she knew it was true. It was one of the reasons he did it; he wanted to see how easy it was to get away with. And she let him. Emma was more focused on Quidditch than the actual matter, no matter how much it got to her. Quidditch was important. But so was she and now it may have been too late.

       “Nothing to say? No remarks about how disgusting I am? Or are you ashamed?”

Emma Vanity wasn’t a coward. She wasn’t - couldn’t - let him just continue. Though she was wandless and still smaller than the male. And while Quidditch drove her, it shouldn’t have been the excuse. Nothing could have ever been a good enough excuse for this. Before she got her chance to retaliate in all confidence she could muster, Dolohov spoke once more.

       “Is little Emma upset that she didn’t stop me? Dove, I may have a thing for you but c’mon.”

He walked closer, twirling her wand in his hand while his own was safely tucked away. And out of any reach except his own.

      “Perhaps you secretly liked it? You’re oh, so mad because you liked—”

      “I didn’t like it and I don’t like this.”

      “You’ll get over it.”

Emma felt nauseous. Did what Regulus tell him finally push him to do something? Surely that couldn’t have been it - and she couldn’t blame the younger. He didn’t know better at the time.

     “You’re still disgusting and this seriously isn't helping your case.”

     “My case? I haven’t gotten in any trouble, dove.”

     “You just wait. One of my Quidditch players or not, this isn’t—”

After her word rushed out, Dolohov lashed out in frustration. In a swift motion fiery fists held down her arms, kicking her legs to get him away. Nothing seemed to direct him from what he wanted - what ever that was. Silent shrieks went deaf to everyone else and to Dolohov, they were like a soothing lullaby a mother told her crying child.

When she became aware of what was to come, Emma just closed her eyes to hold the waterworks. No matter how bad the need was, she didn’t want to cry. Not in front of him. She wasn’t going to give him that.

To her surprise, he released her arms. A complete sudden switch of actions. She didn’t ask - she just watched as he slowly backed away. What could have caused this, she’ll never know. As Dolohov dropped her wand out of his hand, she quickly retrieved it.

He may not have done more than what he had. He may have been one of her Quidditch players. He may have been in Slytherin, as well; but she couldn’t let herself walk away this time without doing something. Without hesitation she pointed her wand at him and threw a stinging hex at him. Perhaps it wasn’t the most dangerous - but from what she’s been told, it was painful.

While Dolohov was distracted by the surprise hex; Emma unlocked the door. And not looking back, she hurried herself to her dorm for the evening.

But just because nothing too serious happened, doesn’t mean she’d easily forget it.
