Film survey
taking up the challenge from @amplifyme
Last film you watched in the cinema?
I'm pretty sure it was Mr Holmes with Ian McKellen, at least that is the last one I remember.
Film that always makes you cry?
Shadowlands
Film you know every single word to?
I may know every word to Casablanca but I have never tested myself.
Favourite 2000s teen movie?
I'm too old to have watched teen movies in the 2000s; I watched John Hughes teen movies.
Most embarrassing "guilty pleasure" film? 300
Film that changed your life?
Cannot think of one that changed my life but Bleu by Krysztof Kieslowski really resonated; and Hiroshima Mon Amour by Alain Resnais changed my ideas about films
Favourite movie snack?
Dollar store gummies smuggled in my purse
Your go-to movie quote?
"Hey Tomasso, the food!" [A Night at the Opera]
The most overrated film ever?
That I have seen: Hitchcock's Vertigo gets a lot critical praise but I didn't care for it; I found it long and boring and hated the plot of an obsessive man.
Favourite director?
I love 1940s Alfred Hitchcock; and Peter Weir for his beautiful landscapes. Errol Morris documentaries are staggeringly intelligent.
First movie you remember seeing in theaters?
Disney Sleeping Beauty
Horror, comedy, or romance?
Dramas, but honestly I like any genre if it is well done, well written and well acted which I why I prefer old classics. I just find modern horror gory, modern comedy lowbrow and modern romance trite. Sorry if I sound like a snob but I have seen so many bad films along with good ones that it has made me very particular.
The ultimate "Top 10" favorite movies of all time?
[I'd classify these as '10 of my favourites' rather than ultimate of all time.]
Casablanca
Notorious
Rebecca
Bleu
Hiroshima Mon Amour
Days of Heaven
Shadowlands
The Maltese Falcon
Some Like It Hot
Cabaret
I'm inviting anyone who'd like to play.

Last song: Songbird - Fleetwood Mac
Fave colour: Blue
Watching: I like the British series Escape to the country, because I dream of a country cottage in a small town .
Reading: I have discarded 3 books that I started lately; I bought them remaindered in the bookstore and none were any good. I was gifted Alexei Navalny' book Patriot but right now the life of a good man murdered by Putin is too much to bear.
Last google: the German title of Triumph of the Will by Leni Riefenstahl so I could comment on a post.
Currently working on: knitting baby blankets and booties for a colleague who is expecting this fall. Also resting and recovering from a fractured metatarsal bone in my foot. I miss writing but haven't any inspiration during the last season of GoT. Still waiting on the next books...

I wrote this charm for a working to protect another from false friends and negative influences.
Let the Spirits who made the road before your feet set the stone firm beneath your step. No crooked tongue shall guide you, no hidden hand shall turn you aside. Let the light of the Insight go before you like the morning sun, and let the shadow of the Discernment stand behind you like a wall of stone.
If any would lead you into thorns, let their words falter and fall to dust. If any would hide their face in deceit, let their mask break and their name be known. What is crooked shall be made straight. What is hidden shall be brought into the day.
As mist flees the rising sun, so let false friends depart from you. Blessed is your road and wise be your counsel. Your path is kept, you steps are guarded, and only those who walk in truth shall remain beside.
In hindsight of the repeated next-day effects of this charm, this needs to be paired with anchoring/aiming techniques. It might work best when there is a particular potentially false person in mind rather than applied generally, which has been my only use of it so far.
this dumb website is in need of some love, so reblog this if you like the person you reblogged it from!!!

If you are reading a nice book, feel free to add it to the comments.
I just finished Kate Quinn's The Astral Library.
Still wondering which book I would chose to live in if given the chance.
Not to hand it to the Pope but telling world leaders during Holy Week that God isn’t listening is kinda funny.
"A person's a person, no matter how small."
