Hey there! I think this was from some sort of "share a snippet from your writing" ask game I did a while back!

This is from a oneshot WIP I'd love to finish someday. It's about Martina touring the Institute as a prospective student, her feelings of loneliness, her starting to buy into Curtain's message... and, of course, meeting Jackson and Jillson for the first time, who are her slightly offputting tour guides. During the tour she's trying to guess whether they are siblings or dating by watching how they interact and keeping a running tally of her guesses.

i like it when an evil character dies unrepentant and that itself is narratively framed as a great tragedy. when their death scene is very uncomfortable and sobering instead of triumphant for the heroes. when it’s less about what they’ve done and more about what they’ve failed to do, less who they were and more who they failed to ever become… yeeeaaahhhh
