"glad we could agree on something." he teased his son, offering him a weak smile. "absolutly, simon. you can talk to me about anything." he nodded, adding the last bit to make sure his son knew that he would always be there for him, even if he did do something he wouldn't approve of. "where would you like to start?"

“I’m sorry?” His words confused her; Luna wasn’t sure if he really was busy or if now was a good time to speak with him. “I.. I just had a few questions about the classes you’re offering this semester.” She had heard stories about him, Magneto, both from the news and from her dad. His presence was definitely intimidating. “But if you’re really busy, I can always ask later. It’s nothing urgent.”

“No no, stay.” He realized that he hadn’t been quite clear, and that was entirely on him. “What questions did you have?”

Giving a nod to what the man said, Bruce let himself walk out of the lamplight and closer to Erik as he talked. “They all did pretty well, from what I was able to hear.” Bruce let himself smile, as his children and grandchildren all made him feel as if he at least accomplished a few good things in this life. A lot of them may not be speaking to him right now, but at least he knew they were alright. “The bumps in the road have anything to do with the school itself?” Bruce asked, thinking back on how wild this year has been for Paragon in regards to events happening.

“Good, I’m glad to hear that. Not that I had any doubts, they are related to you.” he replied with a weak laugh, flashing a smile at him. He knew they both held their families in high regard, it was one of the things he and Bruce bonded over. “No, the fact I am stuck to the school grounds where there is a registration act being enforced that obviously targets mutants and other genetically diverse individuals has nothing to do with it.” Sarcasm aside, the mutant looked at the other man and admitted “I’m just on edge, Bruce. Something is coming and I don’t know what it is, or if I can stop it.”

Nadir’s not entirely convinced. His grandfather is no doubt a good liar, but.. some things are pretty telling, and words like that speak volumes as far as he’s concerned. He has, after all, spent most of his life listening to people rather than talking. “Are you sure? You know.. if you need someone to talk to, I can listen.”

“I know, Nadir. You’ve always been rather talented at listening.” A smirk appeared on the mutant’s face as he tried to play it off. “You certainly didn’t learn that from me.” That aside, he looked at his grandson, admitting “You deserve more than spending your time listening to an old man’s ramblings...”

Klara came and sat down across from Erik’s desk. “я скучаю по тебе,” she said. It wasn’t that she didn’t like Logan–she loved him and she loved living with him–but there would always be a part of her that owed Charles and Erik for taking her in initially.

“am i ever?” he was teasing, and it was more than evident by the smirk he wore on his own face as he looked down. “several, most of which include you and my mäuschens.” he sighed as he looked at his daughter, managing a weak smile before adding “what about you, lorna?”

“We’re never ready for change.” He knew he’d never been truly ready for it, not when he was a child, not when it was good or expected, and even now he was among the worst regarding that very subject. “But we must be strong and endure, and I know you can do that, Mäuschen.”
