Summary: Set Post-Httyd 2 in a Drago Wins AU combined with a Viggo Lives AU. Viggo was certain he had said goodbye to Hiccup, but then Drago did the impossible; he defeated Hiccup. A year and a half after, he finally finds him, sold into slavery and a shadow of his former self. Whumpee drags themselves home, stitches/bandages their wounds, downs alcohol as a pain reliever, and then collapses on the bed or couch with a blanket covering them.

Caretaker comes home an hour later, sees the half-empty bottle, and thinks Whumpee is just sleeping it off, so they don't check on them.

It isn't until they find the bloodstained clothing/gauze/etc. hours later and/or they can't wake up Whumpee that they realize something is actually horribly, terribly wrong.

I want more chronic pain whump. Give me a cocky, independent character who suddenly can’t walk because a sudden rain storm aggravated their old leg wounds and now they have to lean on a friend to get home. Give me a usually stoic character shaking with pain during a flare up. Give me a character who’s finally healed having their first bad pain day and abruptly feeling like they’re back at square one.

thinking about euphemisms. caretakers who mean well, trying to be delicate. somebody "put their hands on you". touched, assaulted, used. scars in vague "compromising places". people referring to "the incident" or just trailing off. nobody really wants to face the horror so they dance around it.

and a whumpee who gets sick of it. who throws their arms up and says, "i was raped! they raped me!"

i love that. i love that so much. people are trying to be sensitive and delicate and respectful, and it’s also just… maybe this is not something they’ve had to talk about before. it’s not something they were taught how to talk about. they don’t want to fuck it up and it’s a horrible thing to look at so directly.

but whumpee needs that. they are so tired of it being talked around, it feels like people think somehow the word will be worse than the pain in their body, than the memory of what happened, than the trauma burned into their mind and their skin. it feels like people are disgusted with what happened to them, trying to bury it and dress it up into something easier to swallow. (they don’t have that luxury. they’re choking on the memory every moment.) they just… they need people to just say it. rape. they were raped.

the importance of language in this type of Whump scenario makes me crazy.
