“You fought in the Tournament of Power, right? You’re Frost’s counterpart from Universe 7.. I- I’m sorry, I don’t remember your name..” Kale backed away, an overwhelming feeling in her gut that she should be very afraid of him.

“I’m from Universe 6.. My name’s Kale.”

“Counterpart. As though he isn’t completely inferior to me. I mean- he is rather adorable, but only that, and only by so much. Rather brainless and soft besides.”

Frieza smiles, eyes alight with mischief- and something unnameable. Wickedness, perhaps. 

“Sort of like a jellyfish.” he chuckles, before offering what seems like a polite hand forward towards hers, with an intent to shake it. 

“I am Frieza. I can understand you not having heard of me, being from another Universe and all- so I suppose I can give you that.”

“. . . .” She wasn’t sure what to say about all that. It didn’t really matter to her if this one was stronger than the other. Kale was only trying to make conversation with him, or at least try to. 

Onyx hues stared down at his hand, which she was clearly meant to shake. But.. should she? He gave her a really, really bad feeling in her stomach. It almost made her want to vomit. 

Instead of shaking his hand, Kale offered a small bow. 

“It’s.. good to meet you, Frieza..”

“So.” The potara fusion spoke calmly, arms crossed against his chest in his usual strong stance. Dark hues staring over at his counterpart. “--What would happen if WE fused? What would we call ourselves?”

“Gogito? Vogeta? And would we use my Potara or the fusion dance?” He’s probably thinking too much into this.

“Castle..?” Kale wasn’t quite sure what he’d meant by that. She didn’t have a castle, and certainly wasn’t royalty. Dark hues stared up at the taller saiyan, a bit of confusion on her face.

“–What’d you mean by that?”

“Everything that is yours–that is your castle.” Something 13 once considered Drivel; Broly’d heard it once before, ironically from a target, describing the cause of honorably immense determination in the face of Insurmountable adversity taking the shape of the ultimate saiyan.

“Strength is the gateway to defending your castle.”

It made sense now. Kale did try and protect everything she cared about, no matter the cost. She did so in the tournament. Even if they ended up losing, her and Caulifla put up the best fight they possibly could.

“But-.. I’m not very strong..”

“Hey- … I don’t believe you.” While it was unwise to make statements based on conjecture, 13 felt that anyone who might’ve joined the Tournament of Power, by hook or by crook, must have been powerful; most certainly a Saiyan.

“Fight me. I’ll tell you how true it is.” Yes, because he felt he was a superior judge of the abilities of others than themselves.

“Fight you?.. N- No, I can’t!”

It was very bold of him to just downright challenge her like that.. there was no way she could’ve prepared for something that unexpected. He was much bigger than her, and clearly stronger. The pressure radiating off his body alone was terrifying.. it must’ve been worse in battle.

Kale backed up even further from him, hiding her face in her hands to keep him from seeing how weak she felt.

“I.. just can’t..”

“Well, you’re definitely a HERO in my book.”

“Trunks.” 

Hearing that from her, it just lifted his mood something fierce. A moment ago, Gohan was doubting himself entirely. As if he was inches from giving up. But of course Trunks wouldn’t let it slide.

“Thank you. I don’t know what I’d do without you.”
