My dnd character Davrin! I’m really excited to play her,, I also messed around with my style a bit, I’m really loving it! Say hello to Apricot Pearl!!

After the new su:f episodes came out I desperately wanted to make a pearl character! I'll probably make a seperate post about her lore and story and all that soon

(picture IDs: the first picture is a page of sketches from a sketchbook, Apricot Pearl is first drawn sitting from a side profile with terracotta colored hair cut in a fluffy bob with 2 longer pigtails flowing out. She's wearing an ochre top with an open back that ties in a little bow on the back of her neck and tangerine high waisted pants along with ochre ballet flats. The next pose is her sitting as if she were lay out on a love seat, the same color pallet as the first sketch, this time you can see the front of her shirt which is open to show her chest but still cover her for modisty's sake. The final pose is her standing with her feet in 4th position for ballet but one arm at her side and the other lifted with her hand near her face as if she's looking at something. Her hair is the ochre color instead with the top being terracotta colored and a long slightly translucent tangerine colored long skirt, this was an alternate color palette I didn't go with.

Second picture is Tangerine laying on her stomach, legs bent at the knees with feet casually in the air. She is looking slightly up and off to the left and smiling, her hand near her chin as if it had just been propping her chin up but she lifted her head. She has the same outfit as listed above with the first color palette before aside from her pants now being a rather rusty dark orange. Her skin is now colored a light peachy tone as well. From this angle the light orange pearl on her mid back is slightly noticable. She has a little speech bubble coming from her mouth with a simple rusty orange heart in the center.

The third picture is of Apricot facing left from a side profile. Her expression one of wonder and excitement, with her hand raised to her chest in a loose fist as if it wants to reach out and touch the two sparkling orange fans on display in front of her. She is bent forward slightly with her other arm behind her a bit, she is currently in the Pearl Customization Centre from episode 4 of Steven Universe Future. There are rays of light coming from the upper right corner shining down on the fans as if to give them more of a splendorous feeling.)

Friendly reminder that GIMP does pretty much everything Photoshop does, and it’s 100% free. Fuck DRM and the license culture, we have plenty of open source options available to us as a consumer.

Lightworks is a freeware video editor on par with Premiere

Blender is an excellent freeware 3D renderer,possibly better than After Effects

Lightzone to replace Lightroom

Inkscape to replace Illustratr

Audacity to replace Audition (I also received a free version of Pro Tools with my Scarlett Solo audio interface)

If Adobe is going to be greedy shitheads, then fuck ‘em. Don’t use their stuff. Freeware can be just as good, if not better, than Adobe CC.
