Possibly my spiciest take is that it's actually good to have people you respect and like that have some dogshit takes.

I think part of what is making young people lonelier, in discussing why they're increasingly isolated, is that they're so afraid of meeting someone who doesn't hold their same beliefs, and instead of being just core beliefs it is kinda ancillary shit.

It's actually okay to disagree even on social topics! Even on some political ones! But I mean, online you can start with "i love this mutual but they have a really bad/uninformed opinion about x media"

I think it's actually not common knowledge how to stay cool in the UK, everyone always does the exact opposite of what you should do.

First of all - DO NOT OPEN YOUR WINDOWS. If the air outside is hotter than the air inside, you are actively making it warmer in your house.

Keep all your blinds and curtains closed, especially if you're letting in direct sunlight. Some indirect light from the corners is fine, but big glass windows letting in direct sunlight is going to be hot.

A fan is just blowing around air, this actively makes air warmer. You need to put something extremely cold behind the fan to blow cooler air.
