a tail of two souls.

The air is still as sweet as before, and the night is still calm – despite the situation he was in now; the night was still rather peaceful. He thinks to himself maybe the merman will calm down soon and enjoy this peaceful night with him. It’s been a long time since he’s seen another … other than his parents of course. He could ask this boy questions about under the sea; about life there and what has changed and what hasn’t.
In all the times he’d ventured onto land he’d never met another of the merfolk, and he didn’t quite know if he believed him - surely if the man was a merman he’d know who Woohyun was. All mer knew who Woohyun was, so it didn’t make sense for him not to be nervous about talking to him like most folk were.
Woohyun was still crying, though slowly trying to wipe away the tears. He wasn’t too sure he could trust this man, but he’d covered his tail and for that he was thankful. He slowly shifted further from the water, until his tail was completely out of it, slowly drying. “You- … Do you know who I am?” He was shivering slightly, the light ocean breeze, chilling his damp skin and chilling his hair on his head - he needed it cut, he was never very perceptive of that when it was swept back in the water.
Looking over to where he kept his only outfit he gnawed on his lower lip, then glanced back to his tail, which wouldn’t dry fully unless exposed to the air - the sweater was already damp and he doubted he’d be able to gain his legs with it still on. “I… I need to dry off.”
