“ x marks the spot! ”
Well. At least I know why everyone was so upset about yesterday’s episode.
He flails a little, accidentally smacking her arm away in the process. “How about we not resort to tickling! Tickling is awful!” Someone that passionate is better off being ignored! Tickle away!
Miris stepped back, surprised that he could actually manage to fend her off. But was that skill, or just sheer luck? “I guess you are ticklish!” she said joyfully, her fingers waggling. “This ought to motivate you to try harder, mm? Let’s go again!” She dove at him once more, aiming for just below his ribs.
“Huh..?” She was a little confused as he said that. He seemed to be that way, and why would someone turn down the compliment to being a gentleman? She hadn’t the faintest of ideas. Really, her naivety was getting the better of her in this situation. “Oh? Thank you so much! I think calling you honey is pretty cute too!” She then said, offering a warm smile towards him. Faye was a little surprised when he then held her hand, but that was fine with her. “Mm, yes, that’d be very kind of you to do! Please, lead the way!” She really had fallen for the idea he may just be a doctor.
She... really was naive, wasn’t she? It made Riz hesitate for a moment, wondering if taking her back to his room could be interpreted as taking advantage of her. But she seemed completely willing, and at this point, he was in too deep to back out without seeming like a wishy-washy loser, and that was his worst nightmare. So he offered her a bright smile, tightening his hold on her hand and starting to lead her towards the dorms. “How much time do you have, beautiful?” he asked, doing his best to make it obvious that this wasn’t a goddamn checkup. She needed to understand that he was looking for something a bit more intimate than that.
Blake was a bit nervous when they turned down an alleyway. It was…somewhat strange to Blake though she trusted this new friend. Looking into the restaurant Blake was nervous since there were more human people there. Following Miris into the restaurant and sitting down at the table she looked at the menu. “It’s really nice in here, it’s a shame I haven’t heard of this place before” Blake looked over the menu.
“Mhm! It’s not very well-advertised, unfortunately,” the faunus replied, happily going down the menu. There was a list of the day’s fish on a separate sheet, and she gleefully poured over it. She glanced up at one point, hazel eyes drinking in Blake’s tense shoulders. “Relax. Nothing bad will happen here, I promise. Besides, you have me, right? And I’m no pushover. I’m the leader of my team!” She didn’t want to admit that she did the least amount of fighting. Blake didn’t need to know that.
Telling from the young girl’s expression, told Leanne that she didn’t know what a laguz was. She definitely had traits alike one, but there was a difference. Instead of claws–– she wondered what the other used as a substitute. To confirm her words, she nods once again.
“Indeed, w-would you like to see?” She pauses, then says, “p-perhaps in a less popu…populated area? Wouldn’t want to draw attention.”
“I… I am from…the continent of… Tellius. T-there are… others who can transform too. There are tiger laguz, living i..in a place called Gallia.”
Her ears perked up at the idea of seeing this woman transform. She’d never witnessed anything like that! “Is it painful?” she asked immediately, not wanting to cause another unnecessary physical pain if it could be avoided. If the answer was yes, Miris could wait. “Oh, yeah, of course. My school is only a short walk away. We can go to my room from there, if you’d like?”
These words were all foreign to her. She recognized the word laguz once more--such an odd word!--but the locations were just strange. “I’ve never heard of that place... Must be really far away! Wow, that’s cool.” She was quiet for a moment, before the burning question on her mind was spoken. “What are you doing all the way out here, then?”
Emil watched with a bit of worry, it seemed like the fight had really worn the other out… not that the same couldn’t be said of Emil but that was only thanks to the stunt he’d had to pull in order to kill it… or at least he assumed that he must have, the details were always a bit foggy when he fought in that state.
He picked himself up from the ground and dusted himself off before reaching out and taking his sword back from the other with a soft thanks. Emil gave a nod while he sheathed his blade. “Y-yeah… we really should move, huh?” He was content to quietly follow after the other as he started to move, though he paused when he found himself being addressed again.
He returned the smile, “I’m Emil. I-it may not be the best of circumstances but you really helped me out, so I’m glad.”
The blue-haired man nodded, doing his best to memorize the other student’s name. Names weren’t exactly his strong point--it had taken him about a week to get his own teammates’ names right. But this was a bit more of a dire situation, and hopefully, the last traces of adrenaline that had been pumping through his veins would help cement it.
Turning, he started to head off in what he assumed was the right direction. Unfortunately, in their mad dash to outrun the Death Stalker, he’d completely lost track of where they’d come from. He didn’t even bother asking Emil, aware that the blond was most likely just as lost as he was. As time went on, the daylight started to fade. Making camp was definitely the best choice, especially considering how exhausted Kai was feeling.
After a few minutes of searching, he found a hollowed-out tree large enough for the two of them to sit comfortably. He crawled inside, frowning slightly at the dirt and leaves found, but it was better than being out in the cold. “Come on, I’ll block up the entrance with my shield,” he said to Emil, starting to undo his bracers as he spoke.
She nods a few times. It seemed the other wasn’t aware of her identity, but this kind of casual talk was nice. Being addressed as Princess Leanne or Her Highness was a bit suffocating. Telling from the faunus’s brown hair–– if the girl could shift, her fur would definitely be brown. It seemed like a nice color actually. She never did see any tiger laguz with brown fur prior, if she was remembering right.
“A tiger? I see,” Leanne giggles, then nods, “ Yes, I can fly… and transform.”
“A-are you able to?”
Miris was confused. “Transform? Like... into a heron?” She’d never heard of faunus with that ability, but perhaps that was one of the traits from the other continents. “Ah, no, I can’t. I only have ears, see?” She reached up to touch her own ears. Golden-brown on the inside, and black on the back with the customary white spot most tigers had. “Sometimes, I wish I’d gotten claws instead of ears, but then I look in the mirror and think about how cute the ears are!”
Then her attention turned back to whatt he woman had just said, and her inquisitive nature returned. “Wait, so you can transform? I’ve never heard of that. Where are you from?”
“Other things…?” She paused for the moment, thinking about this. Did that mean.. he wanted to be friends?! She wouldn’t have a problem with that at all, she would personally love to have more friends. Company was always a pleasure to have. “Ah? But you are already acting like quite the gentleman – there’s no need for you to be so modest!” she said, giggling softly as she then accepted his hand. “It’s a pleasure to meet you then, honey!” That was a cute nickname. “My name is Faye Blanc. I hope we can become good friends!”
“Modesty is not my strong suit,” he admitted, eyebrows coming together in confusion. He couldn’t tell if this girl was going along with his flirtations or if she was just oblivious. He sincerely hoped it was the former. This girl was very pretty, and if he could get with her, he’d mark it up to a minor victory. The fact that she used the nickname he’d assigned himself just encouraged him further. “Faye, mm? A beautiful name for a beautiful woman.” He gave her hand a firm shake before switching hands to just hold it. “How about we go back to my room and I can look you over more carefully? I want to make sure you don’t have any hidden injuries.”
Bake nodded as well “yes I can’t wait, it should be nice.” Her bow twitched, she was excited to finally know of a place she could find her favorite of all favorite meals and not get judged for being there. It was a nice thought and almost sounded too good to be true.
Miris noticed the twitch and smiled widely, her own excitement building. She continued through the streets, eventually turning down a little alley. One of the main draws of this place was its out-of-the-way location, which helped its more nervous faunus customers find comfort. Pushing open a heavy door, she revealed a small, well-lit restaurant with tables scattered about. There were more human customers than usual, she noticed with a frown, although that didn’t stop her from wandering over to a table. She settled down in a chair and gestured for Blake to sit across from her, picking up a menu.
The wolf’s head turned, violet eyes glaring down at the feline who’d made the stupid inquiry. Volug’s arms crossed over his bare chest almost immediately, trying his best to look tough and intimidating. Not that he actually wanted to scare or threaten the cat– if he’d wanted to do that, he’d have turned into a wolf, or at least bared his teeth at her.
“Hatari is hot,” Volug explained in his rough attempt at modern beorc language. No further words came out of his mouth, and his expression clearly showed that he seemed to think that was a sufficient answer to the laguz’s question. Perhaps if his grasp on that language had been a bit better, he’d have known that his statement seemed like a bit of a non-sequitur, but alas, that was not the case.
Miris waited patiently, seemingly unbothered by his appearance. No matter how much he glared, he couldn’t compare to some of the humans she’d met in the past--they truly could be monsters. Instead, she kept her mouth shut while he formulated words, her lips quirking into a little smile when he finally did reply.
“... And?” she asked, gesturing for him to continue. There had to be more of a reason than that. “We aren’t exactly in Hatari right now. So why haven’t you put a real shirt on yet? Do you just run at a higher temperature, or something?” Part of her wanted to touch him and find out, but perhaps that wouldn’t be a best first impression.

“So, uh... Where’s your shirt?” the laguz asked, her ears twitching in curiosity.
“Faunus? Ah..that’s not…what I’m called.”
Leanne blinks, staring at Miris in confusion regarding the unfamiliar word. There wasn’t an equivalent word in the Ancient Language, so… it must be completely foreign. Where had she gotten herself this time? It must be similiar to laguz–– she wondered if the girl could shape shift? Various questions began to pop into her head now, but she was willing to learn. Leanne watches her outstretch her hand, and blinks. How very considerate of her, this makes the heron smile wider.
“You …you may.” She replies, nodding, “I do not mind…” Leanne then stretches her wings, carefully letting them spread out –– making sure she doesn’t hit anyone in the process. “Thank you.. for asking,” She then pauses, following up with what she said prior, “I am a Bird Laguz, a…Heron.”
Miris noted the brief confusion, although her interest in the wings greatly outweighed the expression. “I just know that some parts can be... personal, and I’m never sure what is and isn’t,” she said by way of explanation as she reached out, running small fingers over her wings. The feathers felt incredibly smooth under her hand, exactly how she’d imagined. Still, it was nice to know that her imagination had rang true.
“A laguz?” Her brows lifted, and she tried to work her way around that word. She knew that there were other continents, but did they have different words for faunus? “A heron? Cool! I’m a tiger.” Or, at least, a tiger faunus. But she felt like that was obvious at this point. “But wow, your wings sure are pretty. And big! Can you fly?”
Blake smiled, “Really? Well again it does make it easier for him. I’m glad he is one person who isn’t discriminatory against us. Rarely shop owners seem to be like this.” Blake’s bow twitched every so slightly. “I just hope nobody tries to cause a scene there… Just because he doesn’t allow it doesn’t mean it wont happen”
Miris nodded. “Mm. It’s always inevitable. Truthfully, it’s kinda... sad, the way most humans can’t accept us.” That added onto the fact that the owner wasn’t always out on the floor meant that some incidents snuck past him. Miris didn’t want to dwell on those bad memories, though, and was quick to move on. “I’m sure it’ll be fine, though, and we’ll have a lot of yummy fish! I can’t wait.”
“Ah, very well. If you insist then, we can share!” Although she did feel guilty about bumping into him and causing all that hassle, there really wasn’t much that she could do about it if he insisted on taking some of the blame too. Sharing was caring, right? “Oh… bruised?” She blinked in surprise when he mentioned that, looking down at her legs. They didn’t seem all that bad though, right? “Hmm?” Ignorantly she then looked down at the notebook offered to her, carefully taking it from his fingers with gloved hands. “Well, if you are offering to help me, how can I turn down a gentleman?” Maybe he was a doctor offering to help – clearly!
Riz smiled widely, feeling more and more victorious as the conversation went on. A thousand flirtatious come-ons were flooding his mind, and he was stuck in the difficult situation of needing to choose only the best to impress her. “There are other things we can share, you know,” he said softly, expecting it to be dropped immediately. Instead, he moved forward. “Oh, my dear, I haven’t showed you my gentlemanly side--not yet.” He arched an eyebrow and straightened, offering a hand. “My name is Riz, although you can call me honey.”

Jolyne was bored, walking around the library trying to figure out what could be done today, just another boring day. From the corner of her eye, she spotted Miris Wildcaller, leader of Team MARK. She slowly approached her, not wanting to disturb whatever it was she was doing, she really didn’t pay attention. “Hey, is this seat taken?”
Miris lifted her head, ears twitching slightly at the voice. While she hadn’t been bullied much at Beacon, there was always the fear lingering in the back of her mind. But the other student didn’t seem to be too intent on being mean, judging by how she just asked to sit. “No, it’s free,” she said, shuffling over some of her books to free up some space. “You’re, uh... Jolyne, right?”
I have a few more replies to get to, but I also need to go take a shower. I’ll be out for the rest of the evening, so I’ll get to them tomorrow! Please like this post if you want me to write you a starter when I get on tomorrow!
