She kissed him back, smiling into the kiss as she wrapped her arms around his neck. Kai deepened the kiss as she moved her hands up under his shirt, playing with the hem, asking for permission. “Oh, now I remember.” She smirked. Gosh, these were the times she relished, the times where they were just in the here and now, the stress not even a thought on her mind. Only Matt. 

Matt smirked took out his shirt and lifted her, put her arms around his waist and walked to her bedroom kissing her neck. It had been so long since they had done something like this he almost forgot just how much he needed it. “You know you still owe me a price, cause I did catch you?”

Kai let out a giggle when Matt hoisted her up and carried her. “Well you caught me, so I suppose I’m your prize.” She smirked. “But be careful King, you know how delicate I am.” Kai laughed as they went up to her apartment. She slipped down off of Matt to unlock her door, deliberately moving slowly to make him wait, pressing her back up against him. “Oh these darn keys,” She sighed dramatically, before finally opening the door. Kai pulled Matt in, shutting the door behind them and backed herself up against the wall, pulling Matt to her by his belt loops. “Now, where were we?”

Matt kept growling, he knew well what she was doing and it was making him crazy, he was even thinking about dragging her to his apt, even if it was a complete mess, but he would have gotten the way faster. “Oh, I think I can give you a cue?” He leaned into her and started to kiss her, slowly increasing his hunger for her and eventually ended up nibbling her lower lip “How was that for a reminder?”

She sighed as his lips met her skin, Kai running her hands through his hair. He was right, he was always right, they couldn’t repeat what they’d done the first time, the event that’d started them down this path of stress relieving nights. As much as she’d be open to do it now, it was obvious that they had much more privacy at her place; perks of not having a roommate. Kai laced her fingers with his, walking to the door. She kissed up his arm before whispering in his ear. “Let’s see if you can catch me hmm?” Before taking off out of the bar.

Matt followed her, he wanted to run after her when she mentions to catch her, but he stayed behind closing the door, but it didn’t take much so before she could change her mind about running back to her place, he was already right behind it. He was rather grateful for his long legs for how quickly he caught her after running one block and even if they were really close from the building. Matt pulled her and carried her like a potato bag “Gotcha, so what do I win. Cause I would like to add, I gave you a head up”

She smirked at his answer and watched as he cleaned up, a small gasp escaping her as he suddenly appeared in front of her, her back to the counter. He was a bit taller than her, so she had to look up to meet his eyes, her own blue eyes sparkling mischievously. “Only by you King,” She bit her lip, glancing around even though there was no one else in the bar before hopping to sit on the counter so her gaze was level with his. “So, are we repeating history then? Or should we take this back to my place?” She linked her fingers together at the back of his neck, her face a few inches away from his. “I’d hate for you to get fired on my account.” 

It was a pretty hard decision he was already horny enough to not be a good worker and break all kinds of sanitary rules, but then again, he growled lightly and as he kissed her neck and played with her earlobe, he sighed. “I think we should go to your place, as horny as I am right now, I think I have way more toys at your place to get to use against you that I do here.” Even if it did mean to walk with a half hard on, he could see some of her handcuffs and other things to be the breaking point on going back to her place after all.

Matt King, you are such a tease.She smirked at his playfulness, scrunching her nose up in amusement. “Possibly…why? Does the Matt King miss me by chance?” She smirked as she trailed her fingers up the inside of his arm. “You know I think you’re right, we really should work off all those calories beforehand.” Kai made a dramatic display of thinking, tapping her chin. “I suppose I can wait that long,” She pressed a kiss on his neck before whispering in a raspy voice. “But don’t make me wait too long King.”

“Possibly, that’s such a correct answer, I think you can do a little better.” He smirked and “And nodded well since you are into the proper speech than there’s a possibility that I have Edgerton.” Matt laughed and smiled “I’m always right about food and work out.” He couldn’t help to roll his eyes playful at her dramatic reaction “Don’t worry, I make it up for you, as many times as you want.” He winked at her and finish up cleaning her glass and putting back everything in place and quickly turn off all the lights and were ready to close down the bar. He came up to meet her and put both of his arms between her to trap her between his body and the bar counter “ So where were we, oh yeah, are you ready to be dominated?”

Gosh, Matt sure knew how to drive her nuts. She knew he was playing dumb, he never usually suggested it, always being the gentlemen and having her be the one initiate. And she was going to. “Well I was just thinking it has been way too long since we’ve had ‘that’ much fun, and I think we should change that.” She turned her face to him, her lips just barely brushing his cheek. “What do you say? Hold off on video games for some more ‘fun’?” She traced swirls on top of his hand, smirking. “We can still get Chinese of course, but I’m in need of a more physical stress reliever.”

He smirked moving his face a little so half of his lips were brushing hers “Why do you miss me? I think you do” Matt enjoyed being playful and acting like his ego was way bigger than it truly was, especially in these cases. “You know I think that since we are having Chinese for dinner, we should definitely have a good workout to make it up for. Not to mention I can let you go on with that much stress on you.” He looked at the clock and then to her “If you give me five minutes we can get out of here.”

Kai smirked as the late night memories came flooding back. One thing, among many, that she liked loved about Matt, was how much they could relate to each other. Both had trust issues where vulnerability and intimacy were concerned. Yet both trusted each other enough to be vulnerable with for those ‘special’ nights. Matt probably didn’t know it, but he was the only person she trusted enough to get that close to. She propped herself up on the bar, leaning close enough to whisper in his ear. “It was hella fun,” She smiled, breath hot on his neck as she bit her lip flirtatiously. “It always is with you Matt King. It’s been awhile hasn’t it?” She arched her brow, smirking.

“I’m glad you think so, I would be hurt if it was otherwise” Matt felt her hot breath on his neck and smirked, she was right it has been a while “It has indeed. Why, are you suggesting something K?” He was playing dumb, but he wanted to see what she was going to suggest or if she was going to be straight forward, sex was always a great idea to distract themselves, from stressing cases or just stress in their lives. And they were great at it, but it had to come from both of them as always.

Kai dropped her head down, biting her lip in a bad attempt at hiding her smirk. Oh Matt, that was a very dangerous game to play. The only reason she wasn’t blushing even more from his comment was due to their history, one where several drunken or in-need-of-someone-to-vent-to nights had led to ‘close encounters’ between the two friends. This history, of course, was why Matt hadn’t let her slip up go so easily, and why she wasn’t about to let him get away with it either. She glanced at him, trailing her finger up his arm without even touching him. “I recall that very well King, I also seem to remember you’d been in a similar position the time before.” She smirked. “Or have you forgotten already?” 

He smiled still knowing well that she was right, he wasn’t really much of a control freak but it was hard to let someone else take in charge of some things because the truth was deep down his friendly and joyful exterior, he had a lot of issues and fully trusting someone was one those. It was a huge sigh of trust when he would let others take charge in such a vulnerable moment for him. And if he trusted someone it was Kai “I do, and unlike you, I really don’t mind admitting it was hella fun.”

“But how should I make friends being 26? When you’re a kid, you get friends at school, it’s easy. But now I don’t know what I should do, where I’m going to find adults who have their lives well put together but who also have life crises sometimes.” Lorena threw her arms on the counter, resting her head as she stared at the bartender. The new offer made her smile. “I loved it! But enough to talk about me, let’s talk about you. Or is this against the bartender policy?”

“What? Please tell me you are not serious. Girl, one you are way too young to be talking like that, you are like only on the second floor of this building called life, you have WAY too much ahead of you and just so you know, you can find friends even when you are 90 years old and living in Florida” He laughed “I’m serious tho, you can still get a friend at this age and maybe be the best one of your life, look at Rachel from friends, you can say she found her true friends at that age.” He smiled. “When you are a mess and have life crises it only means you are an adult. So welcome to the club, we have group therapies if you want to join us.” Matt laughed and served himself a glass of water “Well what would you like to know.”

“Celebratory Chinese on me,” Kai nodded, pulling out her phone. “You order it to my place, and I’ll call the ASA.” She dialed the man’s number, glancing back at Matt. Honestly, having him to lean on and talk to was something she was grateful for. He had easily become one of her go to people when she needed someone, and she genuinely enjoyed his company. “Great, I’ll see you at 10 am then.” She hung up and walked back to Matt, leaning on the counter. “Ready to be dominated,” Her cheeks reddened at her sentence, the way her words could be taken dawning on her. “I mean in Grand Theft Auto,” She quickly finished, smirking at him in an attempt to hide her blush of embarrassment and pointed at him. “I meant Grand Theft Auto.” Yeah, cause her blush really helped sell that.

“I’m going to cry happy tears, for just how much I’m starving right now.” He chuckled and smiled “You go get them tiger” Matt was pretty happy and quite proud of himself for coming that with that solution and more important that it worked. It was nice that all those years watching investigation and crimes tv show were actually worth this moment. When she mentioned being dominated he couldn’t help to smirk mischievously, he knew exactly what she was talking about but he was not going to let that go easy.  He came closer like to whisper near her so it would be a secret between them  “Uhm, sure... but last time I recall you were the one being in that position.”

“You sure know how to boost a girl’s ego Matt,” She shook her head, smirking. Kai looked up at him, her eyes brightening slightly. “I could suggest to the attorney representing us that he should ask for a new judge, one who isn’t as emotionally involved with the case.” Her expression quickly changed into a look of utter excitement. “Why didn’t I think of that? It could even eliminate his retrial all together, claiming false accusations of tampering due to his connection with the acting judge and the judge being emotionally comprised due to the connection.” She suddenly pushed herself off her stool and planted a kiss on Matt’s cheek. “Matt you’re an absolute genius. Let me call the attorney, then I’m totally taking you up on the videos games. Your place or mine?”

Matt loved feeling useful, he was always happy to help others so when he seemed to have come up with a good idea so Kai could fix her problem, he felt amazing “What can I say I have my moments.” He laughed and smile when her lips touched his cheek “Yours, mine is in no state to receive company, can we also get Chinese, cause I’m seriously starving.”

“Matt… Joey can’t exactly scream or yell.” Hannah laughed a little bit, but she knew what he meant. She also knew that she didn’t want to be talking about her brother in any sort of negative way when he wasn’t there because she didn’t want to make someone think poorly of him. She grinned and leaned her head on her hand again as she took another sip of her drink, “Tell me about your favorite! I’m sure it’s more amazing than you’re giving yourself credit for. “

He slowly closed his eyes and hit his head “I’m so dumb, sorry. but yeah that. I’m usually smarter than that, but seems like I can function at the moment.” Matt was blushing badly, but it was nice to know that she was not mad. “I have two, my girl Micaela, she’s a detective but deals with underworld crimes mostly, she’s always in my mind, I’m always sketching her in the most boring situations, but she is all about fighting very ugly bad guys and kicking asses” He laughed “Then I have this band I have been drawing lately, they don’t have names yet, but yeah they are a rock band, one of them is inspired in the owner of this place.”

sunny had a rare day off, and she made sure that it was a full day off. no editing to catch up, no answering emails or calls from clients. she had too much to do today to open her laptop and edit, she went to new york city in the morning and enjoyed herself and met up with friends and then came home and ran errands until she wound up at the coffee shop. it was pushing dinner time and she knew she should be getting up to get something to eat or text avery and see if he ordered or made anything. as she was standing to leave she saw matt come in. “hey, stranger!”

Matt knew that this was going to happen, he had told himself he would do grocery shopping two days ago, but he kept getting distracted by work, then leaving too late from the bar, working all morning and he was finally looking at an empty fridge. He walked a few blocks and got 2x1 pizza, he knew it was probably way too much for him, but since he loved having cold pizza for breakfast he didn’t saw the harm of getting two huge pizzas for himself. Right, when he was about to struggle with the door he saw Sunny and smile. “Sup Captain Crunch, going out?”

“Black Widow? I’ll take it.” She let a humorous grin escape her best efforts at Matt’s decent evasion of her obvious flirtatious drift: game on King. “My team is combing the case, looking for anything we can use that isn’t among the ‘tampered’ evidence. If we can’t find anything, the guy walks.” She basically growled. “I need to, I don’t know, do something to get my mind off things. Maybe I should hit up the gym, take it out on the punching bag. ‘Else I might just drink myself into a coma, this concoction of yours is way too good.” She laughed painfully, swirling her finger around the rim of her glass. “Having you make me a drink is dangerous.”

“You totally have that spy vibe, not to mention you already know how to fight better than anyone I know.” He chuckled and smiled at her. But suddenly got serious, over her conversation. “Can’t you change the judge, maybe instead of looking something over the case, just show that this judge is too related to the case. I don’t know look for a judge that hates the guy.” Matt smirked, “Okay not that I’m ready to make that mistake twice about offered myself to get in a ring with you, but we can go train together and well as childish as it might sound videogames are pretty good at keep mind busy from those thoughts.”

Kai took the pint and let the alcoholic drink run down her throat, closing her eyes as the taste made her sigh, content. “Mmm, that’s delicious Matt, thanks.” She looked up at him, tapping her fingers against the glass. “And what skills might you exactly be referring to?” She quirked her head to the side, a playful and possibly suggestive smirk tugging at her lips. “Honestly, it’s just frustrating. We had this guy, evidence clearly pointed to him and we were able to get him convicted. But he’s the son of a judge , so you can imagine why they had a retrial, claiming that one of us had tampered with the evidence.” She groaned. “I just hate when the rich kids try to get off easy, ya know? That’s what happened with the guy who killed my foster mom in the car crash.”

He smiled “Hey no need to thank me, you wanted something special and stronger.” Matt smirked knowing what she was trying to do, but he was okay to play that game “Well come on you know, you are like a kickass superhero, almost like black widow, can kick anyone’s ass” With that, he pocked her playfully and listened to her day. Her jobs were rather awful, something he just didn’t know how could she do it, he was pretty sure he had enough of real tragedy for the rest of his life. “Money can buy anything, it’s horrible but the world runs over money. It’s there anything that you guys can do about it to change that?”

He laughed and shrugged, it wasn’t something strange when it came to Matt, he liked his friend to feel good about themselves, to be happy, so stroking their egos was actually something fun for him. “What can I say, I like to keep my friends happy.” Matt laughed “It’s to celebrate the day. Okay, it’s a Dark 'n' Stormy...” He took out all the things he needed “ a bit of rum, some of ginger beer and some lime juice. Then you just make a BB-8 with a lime” He took a slice of lime and used a toothpick to hold in a blueberry to recreate BB-8’s little head “Voilá! Now you got a BB-8′s head.” Matt passed the drink and cleaned up his station as he heard Teddy’s tough days “Dude that sounds awful. At least two weeks go off rather quickly.”
