Is this thing on?
I hear the Sunguard has finally come to an end. I didn’t expect to feel so sad! I wish everyone the best of luck in the future! Truly the end of an era.

A time to say goodbye and good luck
Hi all,
I have been thinking about writing this letter for some time. It’s been difficult for me to put down in words how I feel so I forced myself this morning to sit and write it up. In October, TSG will be turning 10 years old and I have been the GM of this guild for almost all of those 10 years. Taking up the mantle at 19 years old till I’m almost turning 30 in March, this guild has defined almost all of my young adult life. With it, I feel as if I own all the successes the Sunguard has for making an inclusive environment of excellent role players whose passions match with their creativity. I also own all the mistakes.
In October I am going back to university to continue my educational journey that stopped roughly around the same time as I became the guild leader of the Sunguard. While the two are definitely not a casualty of each other, they are more than a coincidence. Leadership, WoW, and roleplay served as an escape from a difficult period in my life. I can say that being a guild leader helped me grow to be an empathetic, caring, and accountable person.
Now that it’s been ten years, I believe it’s time to give someone else the shot of leadership. I don’t write these things down lightly as I have always cared so much about the Sunguard and the guild has so much of my blood sweat and tears. My interest in WoW, unfortunately, has come and gone with this expansion and there isn’t much I can do to pull myself from that feeling. As the campaign wraps up in its final week so, I will be making final notice of my stepping down.
The officers and I have discussed some decisions and the next steps will be made public after the end of Phoenix Wars. Whatever decision is made by the officers I request that you honor and respect it.
The normal things that happen after a leader pass the mantle. All the items in the bank, ownership of the forums (which I would most likely become locked and closed) transfer to whoever needs it. The discord can remain open for a time but I’d prefer a new server to take its place.
I know many people will be disappointed in hearing this, but know that I mean well in this decision but it’s time for me to move onto something different in my life and the Sunguard takes its place in my past. Something I am insanely proud of and something I will think on fondly. You have been the dearest of friends and I hope you all stay in touch despite everything.
Always yours,
Felthier
I left years ago but man its still sad to see the Sunguard end. Good luck on your future journey!
