Why did I do this to myself?
My new landlord can't say they didn't know they'd be getting an obnoxiously queer gremlin when I show up to the lease signing in *the* most mismatched outfit with silly out of place layers as I could make (they already approved me so I'm in the clear)
Well I wasn't really planning to use this too much but uhhhhhh twitter is kind of imploding and tumblr is fixing shit so I guess I'm back (again)
Okay so I ended up making an ableism bingo. Feel free to use this against abled assholes who are making your life harder
By popular request: I swear I'm not anxious. I hope y'all have fun and maybe find something to help you manage
My Child is Neurotypical
So I made a fewâŠdozenâŠposts on twitter about my experiences being neurodivergent. Theyâre a roughly 60/40 split between being autistic and having adhd with heavy overlap. They take the form of a parent in denial saying âMy child is neurotypicalâ and the response of âYour child is Xâ where X is a common neurodivergent experience phrased as if coming from a teacher.
(Iâll be updating these as I make more)

Sorry if this is answered already in the notes, but how is the fingers/toes part related to being neurodivergent? Wouldnât that be a circulatory issue rather than a neurological one?
(I ask because that part is me and my family suspects I may be autistic and I never knew that might also be connected???)
It's specifically referring to Raynaud's syndrome which shows up in 40% of people with adhd (vs 4% of the population) and two of the main aggravating factors are the stimulants we self medicate with and anxiety which is much more common for us

if i relate to over 90% of these do you think i can safely say iâm probably not neurotypical-? /gen
Yeah if you have that much overlap with my experiences I would be extremely surprised if you were neurotypical
Hey! Been a little bit. Thought I'd post an update for yall here:
So as of yesterday I got dxed with hEDS, probable MCAS, and probable POTS. I may make a post about some of those experiences but that's gonna be on the back burner. (Also the day before I passed my prelim and I'm officially a PhD candidate!) My next main project is the folks on twitter talked me into turning my (probably) thousands of "My Child Is Neurotypical" posts into a book and so I'll be working on that this summer. When it's ready I'll have it for digital download for like $10 or pay what you want with like $10 suggested (you can share it with your friends and stuff but if you want to support me I'd appreciate the money for medical copays. Seriously. I hope it can help). The format will be as follows:
"My child is neurotypical"
Your child can't tell if they're over or under thinking things but they just know it's definitely not the right amount of thinking.
Existing in a world not built for us but for neurotypicals often leads to us struggling to interpret the expectations in any specific interaction or task. This frequently leads to us either putting in far more work than necessary or expected or finishing it quickly enough neurotypicals assume we arenât taking it seriously. Over decades of these as daily occurrences, we end up constantly second guessing what is expected, especially as asking for clarification results in us being taken even less seriously. Neurotypicals can help by being explicit about whether this is a quick search or a detailed, long term project and keeping in mind that when we ask questions it just means we're trying to make sure we can give them what they want.
Potentially a bit more in some sections and footbotes with citations for the medical statistics I tend to reference cause correlations are interesting. It will be sectioned out by category much the same way the current page is - it's meant to be like that but a bit more in depth. The main goal is to make it easy for other ND folks who might have been convinced they're 'just weird' to see what's going on and why and offer some suggestions of how to make things easier.
I got a few requests for an ADHD specific bingo board so here you go!
You can't call me out like this you just can't bro ohjdhdhfhgh
I mean same for me but replace the needing 3 hours to get ready with holding my piss for an ungodly amount of time because i got distracted and forgot i had to go đ€
Issues with interoception like that along with memory issues are extremely common, yeah. So nope! Not just you at all

Hi!
I got a few requests for an ADHD specific bingo board so here you go!
Big News! Weâre turning these posts into a fully published resource with explanations and illustrations!
So as of this morning my-child-is has a patreon with the goal of financially supporting the three of us while we work on it so that as we go everything can get released for free. In related news Iâve been loving the responses by people about how helpful theyâre finding my posts while discussing diagnoses with their therapists. This has turned into so much more than I ever couldâve hoped for when starting off! If you want to help out the patreon is https://www.patreon.com/NDTal
