    Every couple of days, McCree patrols the forest for any creatures that decided it was a good idea to get too close to the city border. For his current patrol, Peacekeeper had to be more active than usual; the creatures tonight were really ballsy. Even though it left him tired, he counted it as his exercise for the week.

    Wiping off some sweat, “Holy shit…that must’ve been the fifth one so far.”

    Getting his wind back, McCree moved farther into the forest to see if any creatures decided to move now, and thankfully, he didn’t notice anything. Seeing a small clearing, McCree moved to sit down for a second, and then he heard a soft, angelic voice drift through the trees.

    Feeling slightly hypnotized, McCree walked towards the voice to hear the beautiful singing more. Moving through the clearing, McCree found the source: a women with impossibly long blonde hair…that was glowing…?

    Forgetting that he wanted to be stealthy, “ How in the hell is it  your hair glowin’ like that!?”

    The sudden voice that spoke out caused her to jump and instantly reach for something to defend herself with just in case, but calmed herself when she saw it was just some man. It took awhile for his words to register in her head as she calmed her beating heart and picked up Pascal. She could see the glow around them slowly fading as she did this and realized that her hair had been glowing, something she had forgotten it did when she sang and she found herself hating it. 

    She wasn’t sure what she should tell the stranger about her hair. She didn’t know his intentions after all, and she honestly didn’t know what exactly her hair could do now with the changes this world gave her when it came to it. Was there even a point in keeping it hidden? There was a lot to think about and consider so she decided to just go with something simple, after all he hadn’t seen anything besides it glow, it’s not like he would expect more right?

    “Oh uhh, it just glows when I sing... that’s all. I don’t know why or how since this world gives and takes magical stuff from what I’ve learned.”

“Welcome,” Aqua called as she stood up from behind the counter, carefully balancing two trays of cookies to set them up for display. “What can I get for you today–”

She turned to face the door, and choked. The Light shining from the guest’s heart was like getting hit in the face with unfiltered–well–sunlight. She was a little sloppy in setting down the cookie trays, nearly fumbling them in her haste to get the cookies down on a stable surface. 

Flushing at her own lack of poise, Aqua hurried to cover up her surprise with a quick smile. 

“I’m so sorry about that,” she laughed off weakly. “Uh, something in my…eye. Need to hear our specials?” 

     Rapunzel jumped slightly at the woman's struggles, worrying that she was about to drop the trays in her hands, but luckily she had caught herself and she breathed a sigh of relief. She would have hated to see the freshly baked cookies go to waste due to them suddenly falling

    “Oh no need to apologize, it was out of your control.” She smiled at her, giving her best reassuring smile so she wouldn’t worry too much about it before glancing at the goods in the window. It was her first time here and even though she already knew what she was going to get, hearing the specials wouldn’t hurt too much, she could probably end up hearing about something that would benefit her.

    “I’d love to hear your specials if it’s not too much to of a bother!”

Sweets for some Sweets

    If there was one thing Rapunzel had learned about Wonderland, it was that she loved watching and taking care of the children. Working at the elementary school had helped her so much with being able to leave the past behind, she couldn’t dwell on the things that happened two years ago when she had so many young minds to help nature and teach. They needed a bright, happy woman, not a sad and mopey one.

    She owed these children so much, and it was why she decided to treat those sweet lovely children with some sweets from a local bakery. It was the perfect thank you for everything they had done, after all who didn’t love some baked goods! She’d even gone the extra mile to check in with parents and make sure none of them had any sort of food allergies so she could make sure to avoid anything with the sort, and once that was cleared she happily made her way into Merveille Patisserie.

    “Good morning!” She greeted once she walked, a smile present on her face.

Lost in Song

    There was something about the forest in Wonderland that brought back many memories, good and bad. It reminded her of the forest her tower was in, the forest she grew up in and watched the lanterns float into the sky every year on her birthday, the forest where she had her first adventure in, the forest where she met her first love, and the forest where she lost that love.

    One would assume that because of all that she would avoid the forest as much as possible, but day after day she would find herself coming back and just spending an hour or two just sitting and enjoying the view, usually painting or reminiscing with Pascal, other times just singing silently to herself, that incantation that would have saved his life.

    The latter is what she found herself doing this time around, as her fingers threaded her hair, braiding it slowly lost in complete thought.
