That was a good question. Kuroh hasn’t been around in quite some time. It was strange going from day to day without him. Kind of sad actually now that Shiro thought about it. “I don’t really know. He just seemed to get up and leave one day, without a word. I hope he’s doing alright…"
Neko's expression slowly became serious and a bit sad. She nodded in agreement to what he said then slowly reached out across the table to put her hand on his. "Ne, Shiro, it's okay. I'm sure Kuroh's fine! And don't worry, I won't ever leave you." She tried to assure him with a smile that lacked a little bit of her usual conviction and light.

"Right right, that won’t ever change Neko, it’s a promise." Shiro laughed. He can’t remember anyone he was really this open towards, which wasn’t a bad thing. It was nice. When she dragged him to their booth, he let out another laugh when he saw the excitement in her eyes. “Alright, order whatever you want. Anything you want."
"Yeah! It's a promise!" Neko agreed with him, feeling indescribably happy from hearing him say those words. She turned her attention to the menu and when asked for her order she asked for a few different items then bounced excitedly in her seat when finished. "Ne, Shiro, where do you think Kuroh is?" She asked while tilting her head to the side.
Is she holding my hand now…? Yata hasn’t really had anyone hold his hand…ever actually. At least not anytime he could remember. This was, a bit…weird. But he wasn’t going to say anything and risk her crying or getting upset. “Y-Yeah alright. It’s actually ‘round the corner in the other direction." He said pointing behind them.
"Ah! Is that so? Okay then!" Neko held tighter to his hand and ran around him in a half circle so that they both ended up facing the opposite direction. She walked along with him, looking around at things as they passed so that she could remember her way to this place in the future. However, her anticipation of food was making her antsy so she looked back to Yata for distraction. "Ne, Skateboard-san, where are the other guys you're usually with?" She asked while shifting her hold on his hand so that their fingers were laced together now.

"Right right, don’t get over excited. We’re not even close to the restaurant yet Neko." She always acted like a kid whenever she was excited about things like this, but that was just too cute for Shiro to complain about. “I’m glad, and you’re my Neko." He added before getting pulled by Neko to their restaurant.
"But excitement will help me eat more!" Neko exclaimed happily as she hauled Shiro along the streets. She had a surprising knack for remembering her way to places, even after only having been there once or twice. She looked up at him with wide eyes and then broke into a wide, sweet smile. "Of course I am! I am yours and you are mine, it's always been like that!" She said, as though that were undeniable fact. She then dragged him into the place and wiggled her way into a booth while looking around with a shining gaze.
This girl is going to be the death of me. Yata thought to himself, wondering how she could be so full of energy. It was a mystery, that’s for sure. He didn’t really see how going to a noodle shop was an adventure, but he wasn’t going to complain. He’s heard far weirder from others. “Calm down, it’s not gonna go anywhere, so you don’t have to rush. Besides, shouldn’t I be the one leadin’? You don’t even know where it is."
Neko paused, her expression falling into one of sheepish understanding. "Ah, I guess you're right about that." She confessed while rubbing the back of her head a bit. "Well, then, lead the way Skateboard-san!" She piped up while quickly latching on to his hand with her own. That way she wouldn't get separated from him again and end up lost. That was one thing she was terrified of, losing her way.
She seemed really happy to do something as simple as eating. Well then again, she could have not eaten in a long time, which would be understandable. If that was the case, Yata wouldn’t have any other choice but to help her out. “Well uh, sure I guess. Where d’you want to go?" Yata wasn’t picky at all when it came to where he ate, though he did prefer ramen over most foods. “Well, I know a noodle shop not far from here, that’s about it."
"I'll go anywhere you want to go! I'm not really picky!" Kuroh and Shiro would beg to differ there...But oh well! She tilted her head to the side, lips parting as she mulled over his suggestion. "A noodle shop? Hmm...Sounds good! Kind of like an adventure!" Her eyes sparkled as she said that, and her excitement became almost palpable. "Let's go!" She exclaimed and darted off in a random direction before stopping and turning to look back at him. "C'mon Skateboard-san!" Neko called while jumping up and down and waving her arm frantically above her head.

"Yes really, I wouldn’t lie to you Neko. I have to make it up to you somehow for being such a bully. I promise not to do that again anytime soon, okay. I don’t know what I’d do if you were mad at me for too long." Shiro smiled letting Neko snuggle up to him. “Sure, we can go there now if you’re really hungry Neko, my treat."
"Yay! Shiro's taking me to the restaurant! I'm gonna eat lots of good food!" Neko cheered while hopping up and down excitedly at his side, of course still clutching on to him. "Ne, Shiro, don't worry! It's okay, really! I'll never be mad at you for long, I promise! 'Cause your my Shiro!" She assured him while smiling widely up at him. "Now let's go!" And then she began tugging him forward, wanting to eat as soon as possible.
Adventures? Okay yeah he wasn’t a boyfriend, but why was his name bugging him so much. Yata figured he’d figure it out later on. “Skateboard-san? Uh…" The new nickname surprised him. First time he’s been called that surprisingly. “Then, what, did you want to get somethin’ to eat now?"
"Oh! Can we? Can we really, Skateboard-san?!" Neko jumped up and down excitedly while trying to clap her hands together. It didn't exactly work because the sleeves of Yata's shirt were too long on her, but it didn't deter this one. She reached out and latched on to his arm, hugging it close to her. "What kind of food do you like to eat? Where do you want to go?"
@ my-shiro
"I know I know, I’m sorry Neko." He said, giving her an apologetic hug. “Forgive me? I’ll go take you to whatever restaurant you want, just us, and you can order anything off the menu, ok?"
Neko's jaw dropped open and her eyes widened. "Eh?! Really Shiro?! Really, really?!" She exclaimed before throwing her arms up and cheering. "Ne, Shiro, let's go to that one with all the picture on the walls!" She said before throwing her arms around him and snuggling against his side. "And don't worry Shiro, I forgive you for being a bully."
She didn’t know what a boyfriend was? Yata was naive, but he at least knew that. “So he’s yours…and vice versa, and yet you don’t call ‘im your boyfriend….okay…Let’s see uh…A boyfriend is someone you go out with, on dates and stuff and whatever."
A date? Wait, she knew what that one meant. She giggled and shook her head. "No, silly! Shiro and I don't go on dates! We have lots of adventures though!" She smiled, satisfied with herself even though it was likely to confuse him even more. "Ne, Skateboard-san...I'm hungry!" She whined out, once again placing her hands on her stomach.

"There, that wasn’t so hard was it Neko?" Shiro teased, handing over his jacket. “And just because I’m nice, we’ll have whatever you want for dinner tonight, for being so good."
"It was very hard, and you're still mean...Bully-Shiro..." Neko pouted and slipped her arms through his jacket. Suddenly, her stomach growled loudly. "Ne, Shiro...I'm hungry now though..." She whimpered while rubbing her tummy unhappily.
"Fine fine, anything to get you to wear…something." Yata sighed, taking off his shirt. It was pretty baggy so it should be enough to cover her up at least. “Who the hell’s this Shiro, your boyfriend or something…" That name did sound familiar for some reason.
Neko wiggled into his shirt, sighing happily when she realized it was quite loose-fitting on her frame and wasn't itchy but soft and warm instead. Then she tilted her head to the side and placed a finger to her cheek. "Well...Shiro is mine and I am Shiro's but...I've never called him my boyfriend or anything...Ne, what is a boyfriend exactly?"
@ my-shiro
"If you don’t listen, you leave me no choice now don’t you? I’ll be sure to ask Kuroh to add in extra onions tonight."
"Shiro! That's so mean!" Neko whined out, tears beginning to form in her eyes. "F-Fine! Give me your jacket then!"
@ my-shiro
"Alright then, I guess you’re not going to get any supper tonight."
"S-Shiro!...You can't do that to your Neko!"
