Here's the letter sent to MLK threatening to blackmail him, implying that he should commit suicide. I had only just heard of this today, and I feel like it is important to understand just how much the FBI hated Dr. King

also important to know this isnt just based on this letter alone, martin luther kings family sued the fbi for his wrongful death and it was found by the  court that without a doubt the fbi assassinated king

love can really save people, and i’m not talking about romantic love. i’m talking about platonic, wholesome, unselfish love that demands nothing in return other than that person’s safety, happiness, and well-being. love for the sake of love. i think this kind of love is wonderful.

Let’s talk about dialogue tags:

Stefan sighed when he heard the front door open.

“what do you want?” he growled. 

“Wait you still mad?” Elena snapped.

“Of course I am” he rebuked.

Damon shuffled into the room, sanding at the doorway as stefan pushed past him. Damon shrugged at Elena, before walking over to her.

Okay, for me that was horrible to read. Yes I wrote it, Yes I used characters from the Vampire Diaries. So here we have a lot of different ways voice is described; growled, snapped, rebuked. All very interesting but it makes the reading cluttered.

instead try this:

Stefan sighed when Elena pushed the door open. 

“What do you want?” he asked.

“Wait your still mad?

“Of course I am!” 

Damon walked into the room, and stefan pushed past him. Damon gave Elena a shrug before walking over to her.

Not every line of dialogue needs a tag. And its okay to use the word “said” its fine i swear. Its something a read can quickly gloss over, and it helot the pacing of you novel. The first example reads really slowly, where i second version reads faster. 

Also: when you write a quote you punctuation goes on the inside.

question:

“Why do you care?” stefan asked.

exclamation:

“I don’t care!” 

period:

“I will never forgive you,” he said in a huff,

(always use a comma ^ here if it does not have any other punctuation.)

Here comes an angry rant:

I think one of the biggest things we can do as a society going into 2020 is stop the generational divide. I hate where people say it’s an 80s kid thing, or only kids born in the 90s will get it.

First of all every generations believes they are the best generation. And with technology being available to more people we have “well my generation wasn’t addicted to there phones” “we had it harder.” Of course you did. Technology is meant to make our lives easier right? Why bother if we’re just gonna be criticized for making things easier on ourself.

“You generation killed the planet and ruined our economy,” just because they did dosent mean we can’t fix it. There are so many things we has human beings can do to clean up the earth and fix the economy but most people with an open mind get there ideas shot down because it’s not the traditional way of doing things.

Just because it’s not traditionally dosent mean it’s a bad idea. Like for real drop the generation crap, let’s figure out what the he’ll is going to help make a positive impact around us and let’s do it. Together.

Stop putting off writing. You cannot wait for inspiration to hit because then you will never form good writing habits. you NEED to force yourself to write everyday to improve, plus if you write everyday one day you’ll be done with your book. So stop putting it off, get off the internet and go write.
