Hesitant Found Family? Maybe? + Recovery Whump. A starving, wounded zombie finds a human xe might be able to trust. Maybe. Moira finds a trembling zombie digging through her trash, and doesn’t want to leave it out in the cold. It’s willing to eat carrion. Its clothes are filthy. Whoever was taking care of it clearly wasn’t doing their job.
Hero felt extremely guilty as she watched Villain's struggles weaken and then stop as he went limp. But it was for the greater good.
She carefully picked him up in her arms, his head rolling limply against her shoulder as she carried him to the bathtub again. She cleaned his bloodied skin until the bathwater was shades of red and pink, being careful around bruised areas.
Once he was completely clean she brought him back to the bedroom, dressing him in a fresh set of clothes, seeing as his old ones were practically shredded to ribbons aside from the nice shirt she’d given him previously. Then she worked on stitching and re-dressing his many wounds, smearing herbal healing salves over injuries before covering them all with gauze and medical wraps.
It took a few solid hours, but once Hero was done, she stepped back to look at her work. Now Villain was fed, and clean, no longer filthy with dirt and blood. She still felt bad about knocking him out, but it would've been hard to treat him when he jerked away from her every touch. It was an involuntary reflex he couldn't help – she couldn't blame him for that.
By now the night had come, and Hero settled down to sleep on the floor again while Villain got the bed. He'd probably wake up in the morning, and hopefully then Hero could work on building trust, despite having already betrayed him once.
Villain woke with clammy skin. The clothes he was wearing were soft, and he huddled down in the warm blankets, recently washed. The smell of fabric softener wafted over the bedding, and he felt free. Free of dirt and grime, free of his pain.
Almost. Villain felt…
A horrible realization struck him. He was sick. Probably from infection. He was always really weird when he was sick – it was like being an honest drunk, but a thousand times worse. Because he said things he wouldn't even admit to himself when he was sick.
And that’s when Hero walked into the room. He didn’t even know she’d left.
Oh crap. It was real. Hero was his new captor, and he was sick and vulnerable and at her mercy, the worst place to possibly be. Especially when he might start to ramble and say something he could be punished for later.
That's what Superhero always did, at least. Intentionally give him spoiled food and then punish him for the things he said once he got violently ill and delirious because of it.
"Oh! You're awake," Hero stated matter-of-factly, then pinched the bridge of her nose in embarrassment. "Of course you're awake, stupid question." She walked over to sit on the edge of the bed next to Villain, reaching out to check his pulse, then frowned at the expression on his face. He didn't seem scared of her this time as she checked his pulse. He seemed... mesmerized? Definitely nervous, but something else edging the expression she couldn't put her finger on.
She reached out and placed a hand on his forehead, checking his temperature. His head was coated in sweat, and ridiculously hot to the touch. He must be pretty ill, she thought to herself, and it worried her how fast the sickness had set in overnight.
But it made sense. She doubted they had fed him much at Superhero's mansion, considering his emaciated state. And some of the wounds had already gone sour by the time she started treating them. The infection must have taken hold on his weakened body, ravaging it.
Then, even more surprisingly, Villain spoke unprompted. "You're really pretty."
Hero blinked, the words barely registering. Earlier he could barely cough without getting nervous. He must be super delirious to say something like that.
She blushed. He wasn't looking at her with lust or desire, but like a child watching what would become their favorite childhood movie for the first time. Eyes full of cloudy wonder.
"Oooookay, wow, your fever must be pretty bad," Hero laughed awkwardly, trying to hide her reddening face. She left and returned with some cool, damp cloths that she laid on Villain’s head and neck to cool him off. Superhero must have fed him terrible food on top of everything else, she figured, to make him this sick.
"Does that feel better?" She asked, trying not to get flustered with how Villain was looking at her.
DO IT SO LIGHT THAT THEY COULD TECHNICALLY JERK AWAY BUT IF THEY DO SOMEONE ELSE GETS HURT
Whumpee has powers that need sight? Just want them to have one less sense? Blindfold. Want to mock them and force them to listen? Delicately place a gloved hand (preferably white- blood shows up so much better) over their eyes, stand behind them, and use your other hand to wrap around their throat and force their chin up.
The whumpee's employers know that they're likely to be captured so before sending them out on a dangerous mission that they may well not return from, they are trained to ensure they don't give anything up.
They're hurt over and over by their own people, punished for talking and begging and making too much noise, until they can take it in silence. They don't hate their instructors. They know it must be done.
Will the training come in useful? Or will their enemy try another approach, offering kindness instead of pain and rendering their training useless?
Hello!
I'm afraid it's been... a long while since I've been properly on here.
Would anyone be willing to assist me with the finding of a certain fic? I can't quite remember the characters name or premise, but I will tell what I can.
It is about a slave, or a pet, owned by a kind master (and maybe mistress?) I don't believe it was the Callum series, but it may have been? Vague, I apologize. I remember that there was discussion of a present, or a gift. It was a simple black box, the main pet character had changed into old clothes/no clothes in order to not make his master/mistress have to remove the clothes from his corpse after they euthanized him. They weren't planning on doing it, but through miscommunication the pet genuinely believed they were going to do it to him.
If anyone knows this series, or the author, please let me know! Thank you!
Would any one be interested in being a beta reader for a new fic of mine? It isn't finished/still in the rough drafts stage and the CW list is long.

Beginning Paragraph
Jon looked so pretty when he cried. His head would throw back, he would make such adorable little noises like he was trying to stifle himself, and when the tears he was holding back would push harder and harder against his eyes and finally began to fall he would sniffle. He would arch his back if he was tied loose enough and thrash. Oh he would thrash, and sob, and scream loud enough that he would choke on his own blood as he coughed. And once he started screaming, he couldn't stop. It was as if a gate had been opened in him and he was beautiful.
So I really REALLY hope this isn't weird, I just love your writing. I think it's really really good, you do suspense and emotion so well. Your detective story was so beautifully done even though I know it was so long ago. Anyway I hope you have a good night.

"What are these?"
Whumpee swallowed, trembling arms wrapping around themself as they looked down at the tiled floor beneath them. They had tried so hard to resist letting Whumper bathe them purely because of the scars and bruises littering their skin. They were ashamed of them.
"Who did this to you?" Whumper tried to ask a better-worded question. They hooked their finger under Whumpee's chin and tilted it up, gently stroking their face. That's all Whumper had ever been, even when they'd first taken them.
Gentle.
"M-my roommate," they whispered. "I'm sorry. I tri-ied to hide them b-but I'll- I'll do better..."
"You've done nothing wrong. Look at me, Whumpee. I'm here now, okay? No one will ever hurt you again."
Whumpee whimpered, stepping closer to the only person who'd ever been kind to them. Whumper immediately bundled them up into their arms and held them tight, tenderly running their fingers through their hair.
They had never taken Whumpee to hurt them. In fact, that was the last thing they wanted from this. All they wanted was the opportunity to love and worship them like the perfect being they were, and drastic measures had to be taken to ensure that they didn't leave again.
They realised now, however, that was not going to be a problem.
Something has gotten into Whumpee. Literally. It will kill them if Caretaker doesn't dig it out quickly. "I'm sorry... this will hurt..." Caretaker says before, before chasing the parasite down, trying to ignore Whumpee's screams as Caretaker inflicts far more pain than the parasite did, praying that medical help will arrive in time to save Whumpee from the damage Caretaker is forced to do when the parasite hides itself deeper in Whumpee's body... .
Additon to the forced surgery to remove a parasite prompt: Caretaker also praying that Whumpee passes out from the pain. So they don't suffer. But if Whumpee does pass out Caretaker panics that Whumpee passed out from bloodloss.
warnings: self-harm for blood magic purposes, past torture, broken bones, bowing, begging

Haven stood at the mouth of the cave, debating whether to enter or not. She didn’t actually have a choice, but wanted to pretend for a moment that she did. Today was the final day the summoning circle and protection runes would hold up. After that, the demon would run loose in the city if she didn’t send it back. Obviously a more pressing concern than the curiosity that prompted her to summon a demon in the first place, but she wanted to make her deal and didn’t think it would have taken this long to do it. When she’d asked others in the city coven about their experiences, none of them had said anything about trouble like this. They told her the demons were more than ready to make deals—eager, even. Of course they would be. Like a sleazy salesman ready to trap an unsuspecting witch into an expensive trade—one that would benefit only one side of the engagement.
This demon didn’t want anything to do with her. She’d plainly stated she wanted a spell removed from a grimoire she’d found—a protection charm that made it unable to open, something more powerful than she could counter on her own—but even with her request, the demon still kept up that pitiful act. It had cowered and whimpered at the barest mention of using its powers, begging and pleading with her that it would be good. What in the realm was that even supposed to mean?
