ELEMENTAL
The mortifying ordeal of being known
The gratifying relief of being forgotten
I have been on my knees alone
Frozen as the ivy renders my whole soul rotten
My face forced upwards, the sky so blue
I pinch my eyes shut, I'm scared of the moon
People surround me with their never ending chants
All eclipsed, they're performing their dance.
The ivy grips my hand, my eyes forced open
The waves crash in with sounds forgotten
The moon looks beautiful, a glory in the lone.
The stares on me are chilling, like snow falling down.
My eyes shut, I want to will them away.
The ivy reaches my shoulder, I should smile again
Drawing blood from me, it's for my own good
They sacrifice it to the earth, even the ivy shook
To be seen is the penalty, being alive is an art.
How can they still dance? They're falling apart.
The ivy reaches my neck, it clenches my throat.
Pain makes us most aware of ourself alone.
I look up to the moon, I want to escape
They're also closing in, I'll never see the day
Did my best just to exist for them
Burned at the stake, I was too normal for them
"Magic surges from their finger tips
Alluring siren sounds from their lips"
They're all the same.
They're all the same.
Following steps of their mothers and mothers and mothers
At least I was brave enough to walk on path another.
The moon is beautiful, she stands alone
Fire consumes me, I'm on my own.
The ivy burns with me, surely there was only one of them
The waves crash in, their sounds will be heard again
The moon will stand in her glory- never leaving the sky
Little did I know, from the sun it will hide.
Another one of me will be tied to the ivy again
She won't even have the moon, all scared and chained
She will look up to the sky just to get blinded
Tragedy never ends, I was too short sighted.
