hey guys don't watch shakespeare's new play hamlet. it's super heckin' problematic and glorifies killing your family members. the bard knew exactly what he was doing and i hope he can sleep at night knowing he's exposed many impressionable viewers to graphic violence, slutshaming (gross!) and depictions of theatre kids. dni if you think this is ok btw

since im on a roll about tragedies:

i am sick to death of fourth wall breaks that are funny. i want fourth wall breaks that make me want to cry.

give me hamlet looking up during his monologue to see the audience and plead with them for help. give me orpheus, on the road back up from the underworld begging us to make sure eurydice is there, to tell him she is safe. give me orpheus turning when the audience stays silent.

give me someone, bloody and full of tears monologuing to the camera when the narrative has wound itself so tight that they can't escape it anymore.

i want the tragedy to be the performance. i want the tragedy to be, truly, in the eyes of the beholder.

I love it when dogs try to help but the task at hand requires zero dogs so they just kinda stand in front of you and look serious.

thinking about how we have so many little rituals for wishes.... birthday candles, fallen eyelashes, 11:11, straw papers, dandelions, shooting stars, rainbows, wishbones, full moons...... the list is endless <3

It’s weird to grow up in a family where you know you’re loved but you don’t feel loved. And then later in adulthood you understand how almost impossible it seems to cross that distance and let yourself experience closeness, how otherworldly love feels now and how love feels unbearable at times. You flinch when someone tries to wholeheartedly love you. And over and over you see so clearly how you cannot be loved unless it's from afar and love is mixed with that familiar sensation of distance and coldness.

I am so sorry that at some point in your young and vulnerable life, you were taught that certain bodies made people less deserving of food, of comfort, of human indulgence. I am especially sorry to those of you who learned that lesson while inhabiting those bodies. You deserve to eat, You all deserve to eat. And you deserve to have food that you enjoy.
