Don’t worry! Once it catches you it won’t have to be blank anymore
He actually summed it up really well.
"Stop saying 15 year olds with weird interests are cringe, they're 15" this is true however you should also stop saying adults with weird interests are cringe because who gives a shit
To wit:
I want to share some wisdom from my high school art teacher.
In my AP Art class, there was a girl who was just starting to experiment with mixed media. At this point she was still playing around, trying to decide what direction she wanted to go with her portfolio. So one critique day, she brought in an abstract canvas with some rhinestone highlights and painted and real peacock feathers. She loved sparkles and peacock feathers so she thought she’d try introducing them a *little*. And after everyone had given some input, the teacher gave her his advice, VERY roughly paraphrased here:
“So here’s the thing… I do not like this style. These are just elements that do not speak to me personally, but I see that you like them, and you’re doing interesting things with them.
“My biggest critique is, I only merely *dislike* this piece. I want you to make me HATE it. Go crazy with the things that you like. Don’t hold back trying to make it palatable to people like me. Because I am NEVER going to like it. And if the audience does not like it, it should drive them crazy seeing how much YOU love it.”
Her portfolio was chock full of neon colors and glitter and rhinestones and splashes of peacock feathers and it was a delight. Our teacher despised every piece lol, but she got great marks and I think even won some awards. And more importantly, she was happy and proud of the results. Because she didn’t limit herself by trying to appeal to people who were never going to enjoy what she enjoyed.
Takeaway here: be as cringe as you want. Don’t limit yourself based on other ppl’s tastes. They’re not you, and you are incredible 💕

I get these messages and at first I panic because I think it's something about one of my kids specifically. But then I actually read the message and I'm like "oh it's just a Friday in America "
I just told my husband of 13 years that I have to do physical therapy, get epidural shots for my pain, and meet with a neurosurgeon to discuss surgery on my spine. His response? "Did you get my heartburn medicine?"
I have been in so much pain for the last month or more that I think about cutting my leg off or just ending it all so I don't feel this pain.
I don't know why I expected anything from him honestly
Two women were denied medical care due to Florida’s abortion ban
This is a very disturbing watch and their stories are horrific, but I would urge people to watch it.
The anger and outrage of the doctors is notable as well.
It’s why so many OBGYN doctors are fleeing from red states. They don’t want 25 years in jail but they don’t want a pregnant women bleeding to death on their watch either.
They are doctors, they have enough money to leave and relocate.
And women in red states who *wanted* kids are now fucked too.
The GOP and pro life folks: Never understanding the law of unintended consequences.
No, they understood that it would still kill women. Leave them in mountains of debt or in jail.
They just didn’t give a fuck.
Can’t bring myself to watch this. But it’s here and available.
So what are red states gonna do when all the OBGYN doctors decide to leave? Have cops deliver babies?

60+ Tokyo Street Style Looks, March 2023
Video we shot during the second half of Tokyo Fashion Week in March of 2023 while shooting street snaps for Vogue. Everything in this one was shot with an iPhone, unlike our regular videos. The music is by Japanese artist and Harajuku street style personality Rinne Amano.
Well I feel like a big fucking loser now
I don’t know who needs to hear this today, but intrusive thoughts are basically your brain’s (sometimes very upsetting) way of saying “If there were two guys on the moon and one of them killed the other with a rock would that be fucked up or what?”
I’ve personally found that adding the “would that be fucked or what?” part in myself really helps put the more disturbing thoughts we sometimes get into perspective. Helps me say “yeah thar sure would be fucked up” and move on with my day.
It’s not not a secret desire, it’s not something that only occurs to you because you’re a bad person. It’s just your brain deciding to process the fact that it knows an uncomfortable thing exists in the world by feeding it to you in an absurd “what if” with you as the main character.
Words cannot describe how happy I am that this resonated with so many people.
I just had the intrusive thoughts talk with our 10 year old. I will definitely add this for her to try

I am super against light pollution, and have been for decades
but I am also super annoyed by the way it's framed as "without light pollution you can see how beautiful the night sky is" way more prominently than it's framed as "hey, did you ever stop to think of how much energy/resources/money are literally wasted by having so much light shine up into the sky?"
so people get the idea that light pollution can only be remedied by eliminating all night-time light, which would make being outside at night very inconvenient, instead of by making night-time light shine only on the ground where, y'know, the people who need it are
The mildest example of what OP's talking about in Dunedin, Aotearoa:
This is just with the streetlamp equivalent of using lampshades. Imagine what truly directional city lights could achieve?
Reblogging this again cause light pollution actually have negative health affects on humans and wildlife. We weren't meant to live in a world constantly bathed in light.
Does anyone know what's going on with student loans? I seriously have no idea. The last thing I heard was months ago when they were talking about forgiving 10k. But I don't even know if that ended up happening or not because of the lawsuits or whatever. When are they going into repayment? I don't even know who handles my loans anymore.....
