fern's ooo body was formed half from the grass sword, which replaced the stolen demon blood sword that joshua passed down finn, and got destroyed partially bc finn replicating joshua and jake's lessons on masculinity. both swords are long gone, fern created a new willow tree in replication of finn's third home and become transfem below the surface, in her new home. she looks like minerva

the candy kingdom was started by the frankenstein paternal figure pb created, and she builds it in the opposite image of what he intended. she became the most powerful political figure on the continent/their known world. she's revealed to have been the one who shaped their modern culture- part of which was her pushing boxing herself into feminine archetypes that weren't her, but she did for others. she ends up stepping down at her girlfriend's suggestion and passes the kingdom down to their goth occulty son with two mommies i repeat two mommies. also pb doesn't even like magic or wizard city, but she knows it's what pep wants
phoebe originally didn't plan to come back to her kingdom, she just wanted her own freedom. and her "freedom" came in the form of her dad giving her away to the best suitor, like she's property that finn inherited. phoebe wasn't physically trapped anymore, but still restricted, and dependent on him in an outside world she doesn't understand. finn was her new lamp. she eventually returned to dethrone her dad and take the title of "king" for herself, and used the morality she developed on her own to fix her home. also rap career
jermaine let his childhome home w all his parents' work burn down so he can be free. he left with the demon his dad trapped for years, and they open an art studio together and are boyfriends
jake's alien dad never intended for jake to live, let alone have his own kids. yet the pup kingdom became the dominant power in post 1000+ ooo. joshua's lasting legacy is not any of the artifacts or hero shtick he tried pushing on his sons who wanted to be like him, but the love he showed jake in preparation of the differences he knew would form
the crown was created by a neglectful, abuseive father figure who took no responsibility for the kid he created to aid and continue his work. the crown's millions of years of tormenting its wearers with delusions of making their desires for connection real was ended by gunther, who also wished to be like his dad- except his dad loved him. evergreen would haaaate that
the only thing finn got and kept from martin is a limb difference. he continued martin's work of destroying/disengaging ghe guardian who kept all the humans trapped. the best thing martin ever did was save his son, but he will only be known for failing him bc he could not face what he created
huntress is the only character who chose to follow in her father's footsteps and is happy for it. he took her in not knowing she could shapeshift and would take on his (+ her mom's) features, and the last thing he did was pull her out of their burning home to save her. she feels trapped for years not by or in search of her home, but by her fear of creating and losing another one. her (cool name that made me love her instantly when i was a teen) is the feminine form of her father's occupation
in adventure time, fathers who try to create a legacy will be pwned by cosmic forces and/or the gays. any remainder of the father's image lives on only through acceptance of the child's differences from the start, and so will not be recognizable to those who don't know them
