It's been weeks, maybe months you weren't exactly sure anymore, since Diluc last spoke to you. Since he last looked at you. You understood after his father had passed, but now you missed him and it hurt relentlessly.

You weren't sure what you did wrong, if you even did something wrong, you just knew Diluc was avoiding you. Every time you were face to face, he would mumble an excuse about needing to be somewhere or that the tavern is busy and he couldn't talk right now.

Your heart broke everytime he avoided your eyes.

And you were tired of it.

You were purposefully seeking him out, you have been all day. Charles didn't know where he was, neither did Kaeya. Kaeya said they stopped talking, but when you asked why out of confusion he didn't respond. Not even a sound or mumble.

What was happening.

You groaned and slid down the wall outside the tavern, the sun was setting and you could hear the sound of a bustling crowd of men entering the tavern for a night off from work. You burried your face in your hands, trying to desperately to hold back you tears. You missed Diluc, you missed him so much.

You looked up from your hands, resting your chin on your knees and trying to listen to the sound of laughter from inside the tavern. Friends, family, lovers laughing together. That used to happen with you, Kaeya, and Diluc. Maybe you even let yourself consider it a lovers date sometimes when it was just you and Diluc.

Diluc held your hand under the table once when a boy wouldn't leave you alone. He told the boy off, his tone was sinister, but you felt so safe around him. Always around him.

Your thoughts evaporated when you saw a glimpse of red hair whisking around a corner.

Diluc.

You jumped from your seated position and scrambled after him, your heart beating out if your chest when you came to a stop a foot or two behind him.

"Diluc!" You smiled, exasperated from trying to catch up to him.

He turned around, his eyes did not lighten and your smile fell.

"Diluc can we please talk?" You sighed, trying to walk up to his side when he turned back around and started walking.

"I'm busy."

You paused, his response was expected, but being Diluc's best friend for nearly a decade meant being a fighter, take that as you will. He was only a few inches ahead of you before you jumped forward and grabbed the edge of his cloak, yanking it backwards. He stumbled but caught himself and lashed around to face you. Your arms were already crossed like your mother when you looked him in the eye.

"What is your problem?" Diluc hissed, straightening out his clothes.

You scoffed, trying to keep your cool but you stomach fell at his harsh tone. You never imagined he'd suddenly turn and speak to you like this.

"What's my problem?" Your voice rose, "You've been ignoring me for weeks, Diluc, what the hell is your problem?"

Diluc paused, eyeing your face carefully.

"My problem is starting to be you."

Your face fell, heart breaking in confusion. He turned around and started walking off again. No, hes not getting away this easily.

"I swear to the archons if you don't tell me what the hell has gotten into you-"

"Stop it." Diluc snapped.

"What? Stop what? Diluc you just started ignoring me! I understand you lost Crepus but please, tell me if I did something wrong, tell me what it is." You cried, raising a hand to your face to cover your stinging eyes.

"Y/n." Diluc warned.

"It's like you don't even know me anymore, you forgot about me and it hurts. You're breaking my heart and I don't know what to do." You sobbed, silently demanding your pain to not spill out of your eyes, but it was determined.

"Y/n, theres a reason why...I... You need to understand that I can't tell you why." Diluc tried to keep his facade up, his hands clenched when he saw you wipe your tears away from your eyes.

"What the hell, Diluc?" You huffed, "That's all you're giving me?"

Diluc looked away from you. You groaned and marched directly infront of him, making him look you in the eyes.

"Oh I don't think so, I want to know exactly why you left me behind. I want to know why you and Kaeya wont talk to each other anymore. I need to know why the laughter I hear in the tavern isn't us anymore." You poked his chest with every emphasized word, the tears that fell from those eyes of yours were endless.

"Please don't do this." Diluc whispered to you, grabbing your wrist and pulling it away from his chest.

"Fuck all, I wasn't interrogating you the night Crepus died but now I am Diluc Ragnvindr."

"I'm sorry."

That was all he said, and even he started to struggle keeping his tears at bay.

And so he turned away from you.

One more.

"I love you, Diluc." This was your last attempt.

Diluc paused in his tracks, his fist clenching.

Please, my love.

"I used to imagine us together, as lovers, did you ever realize that?" You sighed shakily, "Do you remember holding my hand? When I snuck you out at the break of dawn? You let me braid your hair? The times you were vulnerable in front of me? I think about that all the time, I was reminded constantly of why I loved you, and I can't let that end. Not now, not ever."

Don't leave me behind.

It happened in less than a few seconds, but he was suddenly infront if you again. You barely blinked when he cupped your face, hesitating before kissing you.

Hard.

Your eyes widened, but you kissed him back. Oh archons his lips were warm, you expected that. Who were you kidding? You daydreamed about what they felt like.

The kiss lasted forever it seemed like. But it ended too quickly when he pulled away.

"Come back." You whispered, trying to brush your lips against his.

"Y/n, I love you too. I did realize that and I imagined it too, believe me." Diluc didn't take his hands from your face, "But since I quit the Knight's of Favonius, I've become involved in dangerous things, things that could get you hurt if you were seen with me. I'd never forgive myself if you were harmed like that."

"I'd rather be harmed by a terrible person than be harmed like this by you."

Diluc dropped his hands from your face, "I've made up my mind."

You let him turn around and leave this time.

This can't be over.

When you first realize that you were in love with Diluc, you were giddy and childish. The games you two played together and the sunrises you watched, he was the only person you opened yourself up to like this. The connection you two shared was unfeigned.

You remember thinking one time that, perhaps he loved you too. The glances and touches, the secret words at night, the sunrises. Loving Diluc was almost unreal. But you shook it of, if it was meant to happen then it would happen, you didn't need to rush it.

But then everything went wrong.

You could hear him crying and sobbing behind the wall, you'd never heard him in this much pain before and it hurt you to no end. The sound of agony hiccuping from under the door and you could hear his clothes rustling. If you could wish away all his pain you would do so without hesitation. Archons, he helped you through difficult times without realizing it, you owed it to him hundreds of times over.

You knocked softly, "Diluc?"

The cries quieted and you heard sniffles before the door creaked. You jumped back a bit at the force the door was swung open, but relaxed as your heart stung for the sight infront of you.

Diluc's hair was normally a little messy, but now it was unkempt. Knots littered across his head and over his pain flushed face. You could see red strands in his hand and assumed he had tugged at his hair. He wasn't wearing it up, his hair, the damp strands from his tears rested on his shoulders, eyes were blood shot and brows stuck in a furrow. His eyes always barely noticeably lightened up when he saw you, but you couldn't see that anymore, Diluc's eyes were dull and exhausted.

He immediately leaned and wrapped his arms around you, crying into your shoulder the second you tightened your arms around him.

"Oh, Diluc, I'm so sorry." You kissed his hair and combed it from his face, your voice quivering at the sound of his hiccups and tears.

"Kaeya, he-" Diluc rose from your shoulder and looked you in the eyes, but he stopped himself, "No im sorry, I-"

"Shh, if you need to talk, thats what I came here for. Im not interrogating you though, so don't feel forced to speak." You cupped his face and he leaned into your hand. Kissing your palm as a silent thank you, and you eyes stung with more tears for him.

The two of you spent the night together, you made him tea and cleaned his face with a cloth. You brushed his hair and were trapped in his arms after tea. He'd never held you like this before, his arms were warm and wrapped around your stomach with his hair soft and resting against your jaw.

I'll love you more than you'll ever know, more than I'm willing to let you know right now, you gorgeous heaven sent man.

Monstadt was a beautiful place, the wind was gentle and the sun was awakening. Every ray of sunshine hitting the pavement as it crept over the hills. A sunrise was calming, but the colors at the break of day were breathtaking. The rays giggled and peeked into the shadowed corners as if playing hide and seek with them. The pink clouded the sky like vapor from a pot of boiling water, tickling the clouds with orange and yellow. Looking at the festival of colors, you could almost feel the sun yawning, tossing the sheets of stars and night from its body and starting the day.

You were up early with Diluc watching the sunrise, you had managed to convince him before his father woke up. He was reluctant as always, but you supposed being his best friend had perks in persuading him.

You both sat there in silence, your knees hugged to your chest with Diluc inches from you. You lived in the city of romance but you couldn't tell him you loved him, maybe you will one day. Maybe when the both of you are older. You were both young now, you didn't want to worry yourself about your feelings for him.

The thoughts of him in your head made you glance at him out of the corner of your eye, and he turned his head to look at you when he noticed. His red hair looked ethereal right now, tied up loosly from the rush that was you tugging him outside. The warm colors complimented him well, and you were reminded yet again why you loved this boy.

"I'm supposed to be asleep, Y/n." Diluc smiled sarcastically, and you nudged his shoulder with yours, your heart swelling at his content giggle.

"Who cares? Are you doing anything today?"

"No...not unless you'd like to do anything with me?" His smile grew bigger and your face flushed a pink equaling the skies of the sunrise.

The childhood years you spent with Diluc were unforgettable.

But as you got older seemed he forgot who you were.

What Did I Tell You?

Summary: you keep telling Childe to stop overusing his powers. telling him that hes going to get hurt. you couldn't stop him. you couldn't save him.

You sighed, wrapping his arm in a newer bandage and disposing of the dirty one. He coughed and groaned, leaning against you with no more strength left in his body.

"Ajax...I know this is too much to ask, but please stop pushing yourself, you're going to get hurt worse than this." You leaned down and whispered against his forehead. He started laughing, but yelled a curse under his breath when his chest stung.

"Angel...I can handle it. You worry too much." He said, though his heaving breathes proved other wise, "I just pushed too hard this one time, I'm not going to hurt myself like this again." Ajax coughed again, and you started combing his hair

You grabbed a wet cloth and wiped blood from his nose. You gently splashed some more water onto his stomach causing him to hiss in pain.

"Please promise me you wont kill yourself doing this." Your voice wavered, and you took a deep breath trying to ignore the sting in your throat and the tears in your eyes. You knew he wouldn't last long if he kept this up.

He was silent, and you shook your head at him.

"Ajax, please." Your voice broke, and his shaking hand went for yours.

"I promise."

You knew he could never keep that promise anyway. You knew he was saying it to comfort you, yet you let him. You just wanted him to say it even if he was lying, you just needed to hear it.

But you'll never hear it again.

You screamed, sobbing into his bloodied clothes. You tried over and over again to bring him back, you cried out, begging for someone to save him.

Ajax was long gone.

He pushed himself too hard again, and this time it cost his life. He was killing himself slowly with the Foul Legacy form anyway, your pleading didn't help him.

"Ajax you promised me!" You cried, trying to rest your head against his chest, but his heart had given up on a steady rhythm. His ambitions got him nowhere but closer to death, and your body wracked with another wave of sobs and tears.

You wrapped your arms around his chest and pulled him onto your lap, hugging him. His arms were limp against you, no longer able to wrap around your waist. You wanted to look at his face but didn't have to gut to look at his eyes. You knew they wouldn't be looking back at you.

"You stubborn bastard." You whispered.

"Dont miss me too much." Is something he always said before he left for a mission.

You could almost hear him saying it now.

You grabbed an unread book, your skin a little warm from the thoughts of his husky voice from last night. You hadn't even heard him creep up behind you and you jumped when he nipped your ear.

"Oh shit- Kaeya you scared me, archons."

You heard a drowsy chuckle, and felt his smooth lips on your neck and shoulder while you poured tea into your cup.

"What are you reading?" He asked

"Mmmm, I've only just grabbed it, but I think its a mystery."

"Oo, a mystery?" Kaeya's hand slid lower and rested on your abdomen. His voice was smooth and intoxicating in your ears, which were burning red at the feeling of his cold hands right next to the spot he had his fun with just last night.

"Would you read it to me, princess?"

"Kaeya Alberich-" Your voice was shaky as he starting kissing and biting your neck just a little more fiercly.

"Yes? Is something the matter, sweetheart?"
