BORDERLANDS MENTIONED!!!! do you have a favorite character....
My fave Borderlands characters are Maya and Rhys! I usually almost always play at Maya whenever I play Borderlands 2. I only like Rhys' iteration in the original TFTBL since in Borderlands 3 and New Tales they really....missed the mark with his character in my opinion...I really need to play Borderlands 2 again for the billionth time haha
SINNERS 2025, dir. Ryan Coogler
Next up someone is going to claim that the Narnia series isn't kids books.
Kids books is probably not the best way to word it, you can enjoy them at every age, including your childhood, as you get older you may find new truths in them, but they're still good for any age.
Happy MAMMA MIA! day to those who celebrate
genuinely really funny when twerfs believe that porn is what proliferates misogyny. how do they think this interacts with gay men and their misogyny. like do we think it's perhaps from societal structures, centuries of discrimination leading to straightforward advantages for men (and sometimes women) for performing misogyny (which also affects marginalized men who, you know, sometimes, wouldn't ever really interact with porn about women) or is it the consumption of erotic art which often has women in it or is just straight up made by women. which not every man consumes.
noticing that porn often has misogyny in it and concluding that it is a corrupting force that causes or exacerbates misogyny, and not like, concluding that societal forces of misogyny cause people to put misogyny in their porn
do we kill fashion as an artform because fashion has a lot of misogyny in it
I feel like simply calling JK Rowling a transphobe isn't strong enough anymore. Like. This is not your grandpa calling you by your deadname at a restaurant kind of transphobic. This is her wanting to eradicate all trans people (with an extra special hatred towards trans women specifically). This is her trying just that by personally funding transphobic hate groups with millions to push around laws in the UK. It is not hyperbolic to call her a dangerous, genocidal maniac.
It's not about cancelling a problematic writer. It's about literally trying to save lives by denying her as much money and power as possible.
I know she was probably joking when she said she’s half mermaid but I would love it if someone drew Madame Tadpole with shark teeth 🫪
Detective Grimoire: Tangle Tower - Sally Spears
Currently playing the role of detective and sidekick. What’s her actual profession? Why is she here? Nobody knows. Perhaps not even Sally herself.

You know, when I've remarked that a lot of the responses to my posts feel like people are just plucking out keywords they think they recognise based on the shape of them and replying to what they imagine the post says based on that, the possibility never occurred to me that this is actually how many American schools are currently teaching kids to read.
Like, my assumption this whole time has been that when folks go "I misunderstood this post that says [thing] as saying [unrelated thing] because I mistook [word] for [completely different word that happens to start with the same letter]", that was a bit. What do you mean they're teaching kids a reading method that's tailored to produce this exact error?
Three cueing. Once you learn about it, a whole lot of very frustrating online discourse with US Americans makes so much sense ðŸ˜
For decades, schools have taught children the strategies of struggling readers, using a theory about reading that cognitive scientists have
If you were taught to read with the three cueing method, and now struggle to read fluently, you can still learn to read properly!

If you're a teenager, you can still use this resource.
"How long did it take for her to smile?"
This what I mean when I say science writing is terrible and you need to actually go back to the academic publications themselves to get what’s going on
Frequent enough issue that there's a greeting card about it...
Remember kids, if it sounds too fantastical or odd, it's worth doing a double-take.
It might very well be true (the world is a weird place), but it might just as likely be clickbait.
sometimes it’s deliberate misinfo for twitter fame
if someone is cultivating an endless publication of 'crimes' (I'll say especially sexual crimes) with the only criteria being the demographic who committed them, you need to know that is wildly fascist behavior.
people who do this never care enough to vet whether any of it is real and you should assume most or all of it is bullshit, but it is important to stress that even if someone could ensure with 100% certainty that every single instance of sexual violence listed actually occurred in exactly the way they presented it, the fact that they are choosing to present these accounts only because of what demographic committed them means that it functionally exists as propaganda against a demographic. it is incontestably a tactic for manufacturing consent for violence against a group of people.
people who give a fuck about survivors of sexual violence care about the survivors. they might (for example) make a project elevating experiences by survivors of a given demographic (which is what transfemvoicesproject did) no matter who their aggressors were.
