the scene in princess mononoke when ashitaka wakes up after the forest spirit healed his bullet wound and has just one moment where he thinks he’s better before seeing the curse mark is still on his arm and then defeatedly clunks his head back down on the ground and quietly starts crying while princess mononoke feeds him and its the only time in the movie you see him cry when no matter how terrible his circumstance he is always shown as noble and unwavering except this like one small moment of tender human overwhelmed emotions…..
