the funniest thing about ford as a character is that there was absolutely no need for him to be hot. like none of his primary Character Archetypes (the mad scientist, the the mid-20th century nerd, the old mentor figure to the protagonist, etc) are commonly associated with being sexy.

in fact, the "super nerdy dude with glasses who plays d&d" trope is usually associated with being the opposite of sexy.

ford isn't even like, anyone's love interest (explicitly at least). he's ~60 years old and also batshit insane.

AND YET they made him hot. for LITERALLY no reason. designing stan's estranged twin brother like "yeah what if he was like, a total fucking hunk." and we can't even argue that ford wasn't Supposed to be hot, because his hotness is lampshaded twice ("hey why is stan suddenly hot now?") ("figure out what a silver fox is and why people keep calling me one") like nope they really just decided the author of the journals should be hot and i respect that so much

Hard to believe it’s actually over. What a crazy experience! I’m not just talking about the work I did but I met some of my dearest friends on that crew. 

I’m not good at writing these kind of things so I’ll just get to it.
