More Chronic Pain Whump

(The storms are killing me)

The way sore muscles start to twitch alongside the pain, the contours of whumpee's hands contorting at the slightest disturbance, or thick back muscles rippling while plagued with cramps

Facial jaw/muscle pain from pressure making whumpee wish they could just rip their face open like a snake

Whumpee unable to fight back against whumper due to a flare up

Caretaker tracing their hand over whumpee's skin, only for their handprint to remain in clear red shape.

Whumpee halting mid-run, recoiling suddenly from an invisible wound

Overworked leader whumpee standing up fast, only to faint from blood pressure issues

Villain whumpee having a flare up in front of Hero

Whumpee blaming their trauma/whumper for the severity in their chronic illness's development

Whump mix up

There is an error when "ordering" new whumpees. So now a pet whumpee and a living weapon got delivered to each others whumpers. Neither whumper know.

Living weapon: the hell is a romantic??? I'm here to slay people!!! Nope, not like that :/

Pet whumpee: of fuck fuck fuck, did whumper just gave me a GUN??? Is it a real one ?? Oh shit yeah it's real, FUCK YOU MEAN I SHOOT THAT GUY ???? 😟⁉️

Someone sleeping in an unusual place because they don’t feel well 😭🫶 sleeping on the couch or propped up in a chair under piles of blankets

Stoic/living weapon caretaker who has sworn and trained to eliminate any threat to their loved ones with ease paired with a chronically ill whumpee whose pain cannot be taken away from violence. A caretaker who only knows how to protect having to learn how to nurture because there’s nothing tangible for them to lash out against. Do we see the vision?

Sometimes your worldbuilding creates the perfect grounds for whump. Sometimes, to get the whump, you need to worldbuild

living weapon who is pampered. living weapon who is spoiled and praised and treated So Well (only when they behave). whumper who talks about living weapon whumpee like they're their most prized possession, the rarest gun in a collection, their favourite thing in the world.

poison whump

sitting and dining with their most trusted, not expecting a thing

being watched by the one who gave the poison, looking for the first reaction

slowly getting hot, clearing throat, scratching neck

staring in horror and betrayal at their drink upon noticing

getting up to get some air, only to collapse halfway through the room

hurrying to find out what the poison was in order to give the correct antidote

being dragged out, leaving their guests in disarray

racing to get help before time runs out

attempting to leave the room to get help, but being stopped by the one who poisoned them

either slipping off to sleep peacefully, or slowly withering away in agony

executing the chef, only to find out it wasn't a purposeful poisoning but allergy/food gone bad/someone else slipping it in, meaning they executed someone innocent

I love when a character wakes up bleary and a little disoriented after days of fever. They're in bed with a cool cloth on their forehead (though by now it's a little warm), and they're sweating under the covers. They're still not well, but they're well enough to know what's going on.

As they sit up, the cloth falls onto the bed, and they look around to find their caretaker asleep in the chair beside them. Caretaker is overjoyed when they're woken up to find the most lucid version of character they've seen in days.

I will never not be obsessed with the trope of caretaker singing or playing music for a whumpee in order to calm them down. Double it and give it to the next one- whumpee's dying and caretaker is singing to them.

two scenarios currently that I love… I’m envisioning the relationship here as either their friend or teammate or mentor but could def be romantic as well!

character a is tired of being cooped up in the hospital, but isn’t well enough to go home yet. character b bundles them up in a sweater and entirely too many blankets to take them outside in a wheelchair. even just sitting outside in the sun is such a nice change of scenery. character b hasn’t seen them smile like that since before the incident.

or - a character recovering at home who’s tired of staring at the same four walls begs whoever’s visiting or taking care of them to get them out of the house. character b reluctantly agrees (or knowingly smuggles them out of the house) to run errands. they get character a cozy in the front seat of their truck, with blankets and pillows and let them ride shotgun. character a insists they’re not tired but falls asleep after one stop.

Enemy caretaker getting punished for helping whumpee

Living weapon whump scenario:

A handler bring their kid at work because they were no babysitter. But they have a something important to do so the only one available to keep an eyes on the kid is the most loyal whumpee.

●The child innocently asking if they are a friend of their parent

●pointing out LW's scars and asking how they got them

●LW wondering if they ever were that small and weak

●Being protective of the kid because they know how cruel those working here can be

●not having a single pop culture reference but enjoying just having a conversation

●Being gifted a drawing and trying to hide it from their handlers (and possibly being punished if they found out)

●Being recompense for taking good care of the kid (or the opposite)

●months later LW daring to ask handler how is their child doing

●or becoming the official babysitter

●the now adult child rebelling against their parent and breaking free LW (who might not even recognize them...)

Medic/Healer Character! Whump

Medic character! Whump! I don’t ever see enough of this but I feel like there’s so much potential (one of my OCs is a healer and this has been on my mind)

- Staying awake for days, only catching brief sleep in between watches and tending to more wounded.

- Refusing to let themselves be the sick or hurt one because others need them.

- Getting kidnapped by the villains because they need a healer for one of their own

- Losing a patient, not being able to sleep, replaying everything they could have done differently over and over.

- Blood soaked clothes, clean hands.

- Holding someone in their last moments and being strong for them. Breaking down the second they’re gone, but continuing to work. There’s no time.

- Quarantined after being exposed to a toxin/contagious disease.

- Dehydration, lack of food, sleep depravation

- Abusing caffeine

- Needing to be pulled away from someone they’re trying to resucitate

- Getting seriously injured, and having to coach their friend through dressing their wound/field surgery. Pale and shaking with the pain but telling their friend “You’re doing great. You’re almost done.” Before giving them the next step.

- Taking the misplaced anger from a patients loved one when nothing can be done.

- Getting hurt and knowing they are going to die. Telling the others that they’re going to be fine. To keep going, they’re going to catch up. Sliding down a wall and letting themselves bleed.
