I keep forgetting to make a post for my pinned so here we go:

My name is nyx (they/them) and this is a — very self indulgent — whump blog!! I mostly post whump related prompts here, as well as reblogging whump related stuff. I might start to branch out into whump art soon too!!

Whumpee is very, very smart. All the books they read while Caretaker is at work or they’re otherwise trapped in bed stick with them, and with little else to do, Whumpee thinks very deeply about things, when left to their own devices.

Caretaker didn’t realize. They knew Whumpee had minimal formal education, and tried not to make anything unnecessarily difficult, but Whumpee isn’t a child.

Caretaker and Whumpee sitting in front of the TV and Whumpee launching into a discussion about the narrative arcs of the show they’re watching compared to classic literature, or the classification of species, or the chemical composition of what was going on in the cooking show, or something like that, and Caretaker realizing that they’d been talking down to Whumpee for months.

Whumpee wasn’t stupid, they were denied an education, and those weren’t even close to the same thing.

Caretaker corrects themself, of course they do, but the guilt weighs on them for months. Especially when Whumpee responds with delighted surprise to their new willingness to challenge.

Give me smart Whumpees. Give me a Whumpee who can read a room in 5 minutes and adapt to ensure they survive.

Give me a Whumpee who planned it all along and is only taking the whump for an ulterior motive.

Unfortunately, they have ever only been referenced to as "weapon" each and it's a nightmare to refer to one individually.

What i have for the black centered whump event so far:

It will take place in either late November or December, depending on when im available. I really want to be able to host it during November since it's Black Awareness Month but we'll see

Possible names for the event are "Afrowhumpvember", "Black Whump Blues" and, as suggested by someome, "Noirvember"

It would last for a little over a week—I don't think I can commit to running a month-long event (especially during holiday season) but I don't want it to be too short, either. I'm thinking either two weeks or 11 days (in reference to November being the 11st month of the year)

I'm still unsure about whether to make the prompts a single one per day, or that style of prompts that is like, three joint prompts a day and you can choose just one or two to fill a certain day.) Im most used to the former and don't have much experience with the latter but it sounds interesting

Some prompt ideas I've had so fair are "hair care", "assimilation", "voiceless" and stuff like "painful wound care" or "hidden injury" but I'm thinking of opening a form so people can submit suggestions and the prompt poll is not too restricted to my personal references lol

The most important part of the event would be that each prompt fill has to center a black whumpee. I came up with the #black whump tag a while ago but haven't gotten a chance of using it much.. maybe with this event we can make it a more widespread tag the way #lady whump is 0_0 mostly a secondary goal (the main one is to celebrate black whumpees and creators, but everyone is invited to participe) but it'd be fun if we managed that

Suggestions and input as always are welcome :) it seems that quite a few pepple found the idea interesting and I'm really excited to get it up and running. My plans are that by September/October I should have at least most of it set up!

Weaponized whumpee who people are terrified of.

Feared by their friends, their team; even whumper.

They were dangerous no matter how hard whumpee tried to control it. They were surrounded by their team who argued amongst each other over what to do with them.

Were they safe to be around? What if they lost control? It's only a matter of time, right?

Whumpee kept their eyes low. Their hands balled into fists, but they felt themselves squeezing another hand.

"Hey. Are you good?" Caretaker asked, wrapping an arm around them to block some of the shouting.

"I'm calm." Whumpee whispered back, worried to give anything but a positive response. They didn't want to scare caretaker too...

"Okay, why don't we go somewhere quiet for a bit." Caretaker didn't wait and had already pulled them to their feet. Their team didn't notice the departure; they were deep in argument over if they should hand whumpee to a lab to "de-weaponize them" or kill them outright.

The second the door shut, caretaker wrapped whumpee in their arms. They could feel whumpee shaking; they were just as terrified of the team as they were of them. 

"I'm not going to let anything happen to you."

omggg can i break into the top secret lab where you’re being held and sneak into your test chamber and unhook you from the machines and carefully pull the needles from your body and carry you out and try not to think about how much weight you’ve lost even though you’re sooo light in my arms. can i smuggle you into a crappy pay-by-month motel room with the last bit of cash i can track down and wash you up in the chipped shower stall and tuck you into the cheap motel blankets as your body starts to flush with fever. can i stay with you as your body burns off the last of what they did to you. can i steal from vending machines and the continental breakfast and bring food home to you and coax you just to eat a little, a little more. watered down tea kept warm at the kitchenette. can i sleep next to you every night to keep you from going cold again, wait breathlessly for your eyes to open again. can i be there when they do

More Chronic Pain Whump

(The storms are killing me)

The way sore muscles start to twitch alongside the pain, the contours of whumpee's hands contorting at the slightest disturbance, or thick back muscles rippling while plagued with cramps

Facial jaw/muscle pain from pressure making whumpee wish they could just rip their face open like a snake

Whumpee unable to fight back against whumper due to a flare up

Caretaker tracing their hand over whumpee's skin, only for their handprint to remain in clear red shape.

Whumpee halting mid-run, recoiling suddenly from an invisible wound

Overworked leader whumpee standing up fast, only to faint from blood pressure issues

Villain whumpee having a flare up in front of Hero

Whumpee blaming their trauma/whumper for the severity in their chronic illness's development

Escaped living weapon whumpee having to fight against a living weapon they used to train with after they defected.

Whumpee doesn’t want to do this. This is their friend, their closest ally, the one person who understood how it felt to be in their shoes. Living Weapon means everything to them.

But no matter what they do, it doesn’t matter. They beg, they sob, they try to reason, but the weapon won’t budge on their mission. They’ll protect their handlers and the organisation with their life. Whumpee can’t get through to them, and there’s so much at stake here.

Do they let them go? Let the organisation continue on or even be recaptured because they couldn’t bear to think of losing the one person they swore they loved? Or do they grimace as they plunge the blade deeper, wincing for the first time at flesh tearing? Watch as light enters their friend’s eyes for the first time and quickly leaves them, only for Whumpee to be left in the deafening silence?

A warm bubble bath

Whumpee comes home after a long mission away, they are closed off and reserved which is unlike them as they usually jump at any chance to talk. Instead of deeply kissing the caretaker they just give them a quick peck and sits down on the sofa staring off into space, zoning out.

The caretaker immediately catches on that something is wrong and makes their way to Whumpee and sits with them. Caretaker guides Whumpess head onto their (caretakers) chest and places small soft kisses to their hair. Rubbing slow gentle circles on their arm they ask Whumpee if they're okay and want to talk. After a beat of silence Whumpee answers solemnly that they are fine. 

The caretaker slowly gets up and pours whumpee a glass of water and tells them to stay put. A few seconds later Whumpee could hear the gentle sound of a bath running as the caretaker makes their way back to the whumpee. They take the whumpee’s hand and slowly guides them to the bathroom where a warm bubble bath is being prepared.

The whumpee takes off their clothes with help of the caretaker and descends into the bath. The caretaker starts gently washing and massaging whumpees scalp and hair, getting all the grime out. After awhile of comfortable and much needed silence the whumpee talks. They slowly explain what happened and what they saw. Their hands are shaking and they are trying their best to hold back tears. The caretaker doesnt interrupt, they just sit there and listen.
