¿Who or what is “God”?
-By José V. Tercero P.
This is not about if God exists or not, that is up to you, what I pretend is to explain what it is.
“Gods” it's an idea that's been existing since the beginning of the history of humanity, it's been spoken of many gods, little by little every single one of them stopped existing but the idea still remains and one still exists. It is an all-powerful God, creator of the earth and the universe, or that's is its description. ¿But what makes this "God" so special? ¿Why is easier to believe that just one made everything and not several? ¿Why some believe in him and others don't? ¿Why this "God" still exists? There is a religion called "Christian Atheism" which rejects the idea of the existence of God as something physical and only follows the teachings of Jesus. Instead, God is a metaphor, an idea, a symbol, and with this idea in mind, that God is a metaphor, or actually, the whole Bible, this is my definition of God:
God is all of us, and we are also Jesus and his mother the virgin Mary, everything is a big metaphor and analogies. God represents our minds, Jesus represents our hearts, and the virgin Mary represents our instinct, that motherly instinct that is inside us and that fights for our heart, begging to the mind to listen to our hearts. Going to heaven is achieving an harmony between the three, and when you achieve that, you feel in peace, but if you don't, if one of that parts is not in harmony, then you go to hell. Think about it, our mind (God) is the source of all wisdom, responsible of judging ourselves and everyone else, of creating everything around us, it guides us and lifts us if we feel lost, it gives us everything and takes everything from us, it makes our heart (Jesus) to sacrifice himself, is capable of doing the most beautiful things or the most horrible, just like the bible describes it, and if you don't respect your mind, if you don't love it, it can send you to the floor (hell), it can make you fall down on your knees. When you don't respect your mind (sins), you leave memories and thoughts in it, and those memories and thoughts torture you, they make you suffer, they punish you. Your mind sees everything. You feel like you are going to break down (go to hell) and that is why it's so necessary to speak those thoughts, get them out of you (to confess), so you can be fine with yourself and stop suffering (go to the sky). Our heart (Jesus) is who always knows what we need, it knows how to treat the others, it gives us every teaching we need, capable of sacrificing everything, full of kindness and humility, but if you don't listen to him, you lose yourself, you don't know what to do, you don't know where to go... sometimes you wish to kill him, or in the search of something else, you betray him (like Judas), and so, you betray yourself, but it doesn't matter how much you betray him, how much it suffers, the heart always comes back, never gives up, resurrects. Our instinct (Mary) is that thing that we want to protect us, to take care of us when our heart is broken, pleading for your heart when the mind doesn't want to listen, is always there to comfort us and listen to us, but if we don't respect that part of us, then is like abandoning our mother. Our ideas are uncontrolled and so is our heart, we loose reason and love becomes very painful, we start to love for things that only hurt us, and so we don't want to love anymore, our ideas become lethal so we want to destroy everything, end everything. We all need a mother, an instinct to tell us what is good and what is wrong, who to listen, how to love, how to think.
This is why it is said that God is everywhere and that you must believe in him, because he is in everybody's mind, that you must accept Jesus in your heart, because he has all the answers and the teachings that you need, that you must respect the virgin Mary, as she doesn't lets your heart and mind get lost, and when you have a balance between the three, then you have intern peace, but if you don't, you either go to purgatory or straight to hell. In religion, it is no surprise that Jesus and Mary are often represented of many different ways, as this is a way to represent what is love or a mother for us as individuals
And that is why the idea of "God" hasn't died yet and is accepted as absolute, because it describes the human being in a very deep way and that is what it makes it easy for many to believe in him, even if they can't see him. Skeptics will say that he doesn't exist simply for the fact that they can't see him, but believers will just believe even if they don't know what it is. In my personal opinion, God doesn't exist and at the same time he does exist. He doesn't exist because he isn't something physical, is not a being, we won't go with him when we die, but at the same time he does exist as an idea, the most powerful idea ever created by humans. If a god does exist, it may not be the one that everyone believes in.
Do you believe in God?
