I recently read an amazing Disco Elysium High School AU fic called DRAMA [Trivial: success] High School fucking sucks, Sire by the amazing @yousaydisco that really touched my heart.
It was extremely well written and respectful, and made me cry multiple times. I wanted to pay homage to it, so here’s a scene from the fic.

Fun fact about pokemon related fashion!!! Did you know that it is quite easy to tell what type someone may prefer or specialise in based on their clothes???
Although pokemon inspired fashion has been around as long as people and pokemon have existed, it is only within the past thousand years that type specific outfit trends have appeared, and only with the introduction of the pokeball outside of nineteenth century Sinnoh did it get anywhere close to solidified!!!!! The oldest written evidence we have that deliberately attempts to connect fashion to pokemon type preference is in the memoir of the 1913 gym leader for Celadon City in Kanto, which primarily focuses on kimonos and traditional garb, which remains worn in that gym today!!!!!!!
Different regions do, in fact, have some differences to these patterns, such as dragon types being associated with shades of deep blue, purple, and occasionally orange depending on who you ask!!! Also, some regions do not account for certain types, such as Kanto which only recognised steel as a pokemon type in 1999!!!! And of course, the climate does impact the fashion, such as the tropical (and native cultural) climate of Alola lends itself to a comparatively relaxed and heat-oriented fashion trend!!!!!!!
A lot of these choices are actually either subconscious or inherently practical. The brown of ground type trainer clothing, for example, is harder to stain with dirt, and is made of much sturdier materials overall!!!!!!! However, a lot can be said from the local interpretation of the type. There is this gym leader from Violet City in Johto who specialises in flying types, and his clothing follows the local emphasis on wind movement as opposed to actually flying, wearing an outfit that flows fairly easily!!!!!
