Although I’ve fallen out of love with BCB given recent events, but I hope that Mike is able to recover from his anorexia and depression without being blamed for it. Who knows, maybe he’ll be treated better by the narrative and author next decade.

In all honesty, Mike just wanted a friend who wouldn’t leave him behind if they couldn’t have him romantically. All of the “wanting them to pine forever” and “always leading Lucy on despite being in a relationship with Sandy” is a complete lie that came out of nowhere. His friend group besides Paulo never really treated him as a priority, or ever tried to stop Lucy from abusing them all those years. No wonder why he didn’t believe they were his friends.

I just hope that he isn’t forced to apologize to everyone once his turn to almost die comes up. I really don’t have a good feeling about the future of this comic, or that Lucy and Augustus will face any consequences for pushing Mike this low.

This is a bit of a vent/rant, but I need to get this off my chest.

Bittersweet Candy Bowl, at its core, seems to convey a very distressing moral lesson.

The way in which Lucy’s abuse of Mike for a decade is minimized, and how no character seems to seriously bring it up or resent Lucy for it, compared to how Mike is vilified for verbally snapping at her once (which he apologized for afterwards and multiple times) coupled with how Augustus’s SA of Daisy was softened and excused by the narrative as “Augustus is used to manipulating people to get what he wants” leads to a horrific conclusion.

At its core, BCB seems to be a lesson on why you should take your abuser’s violence to keep the peace, and how you should be a perfect victim or you’re as bad as them. The way in which Mike is compared to being as bad as Lucy (for only sending letters in the 3rd grade, rejecting her, and verbally snapping at her once after years of being beaten bloody) , and the author’s comments on how Daisy appreciates the attention her groomer Augustus gave her and how she’s wrong for feeling that way after being assaulted seems to be teaching a very dangerous lesson.

I myself have been attacked before, having my head beaten into a concrete pillar and needing to be rescued by my brother. Additionally, I have known several victims of abuse and care about them dearly. The way that this narrative and webcomic is geared towards young children and young teens who may take the lesson that keeping the peace is more important than their safety and wellbeing is quite concerning.

I truly wished the author would have addressed these issues with far more grace, but it appears to be the case that they will continue victim blaming.

Honestly, if Lucy hates Mike this much that she wants to ruin his social life for even being in her vicinity, and being this possessive for not being able to have him romantically, the only real option is for Mucy never to happen- especially with the author’s insistence that Mike was always evil and Lucy was always innocent.

Honestly, I’d say the fan game ‘Five New Fangled Nights’ does the missing children and animatronics (including sympathizing with them) better than the mainline game. Their confusion on their circumstances, Cassie’s plot to kill the night guard to avenge their deaths and give themselves rest, frustration that they survived all 5 nights, and then remorse upon realizing they were trying to kill an innocent person. In the end, they found solace in each other and learned to make the most of their situation.

Honestly, the way Lucy’s decade of abuse is pushed aside and Mike’s one verbal outburst(that he apologized for multiple times and offered to be her friend even after the fact) and how Taeshi is trying to justify Lucy’s abuse as acceptable comes off as victim blaming. Even going so far as retconning things to make Mike look bad, and softening up Augustus’s original intent with Daisy is pretty disgusting. All in all, I don’t really support BCB anymore since the message seems to be that you should take abuse to keep the peace.

Honestly, I hope Mike is allowed happiness by the author someday and finds someone who actually loves him. Sandy was turned into a vile cheater, while Lucy only ‘loves’ Mike in the way of him being her chew toy who takes her abuse with no question. Ironically, Mike was correct when he described his relationship with Lucy as her Teddy Bear back in Acapulco- she has the habit of finding new people to cling onto and discarding anyone who doesn’t unquestionably meet her needs.

Unpopular opinion about FNAF: the fact the kids inhabiting the animatronics killed the phone guy and the fact one of the calls say ‘Most people don’t last this long’ during night 3 makes me a bit less sympathetic towards them.

Not saying I hate them or anything, given they’re tormented spirits, but the amount of blood on their hands and the amount of victims they may have is pretty concerning.

Something I needed to get off my chest about Made Fresh: the way Tiff is being portrayed as being in the wrong for not reciprocating Jordan’s feelings when she’s clearly stated she’s not interested comes across as anti-consent.

Listen, I’m not a fan of Tiff using Jordan to eat a burger and hitch a ride, but the way in which the narrative doesn’t acknowledge that his strategy is ‘wear Tiff down until she says yes’ is pretty messed up.
