Genuine question: why is it acceptable to be a Five Nights At Freddy's fan, but completely unacceptable to be a Harry Potter fan?

No, seriously, genuinely, what is the actual difference?

J.K. Rowling uses the money she's accumulated through the Harry Potter franchise to fund anti-trans legislation.

Scott Cawthon uses the money he's accumulated through the FNAF franchise for political donations to the republican party.

So, why do Harry Potter fans get harassed and shamed, even if they don't spend any money on the franchise, while FNAF fans seemingly get a free pass?

And to be clear, I'm not saying that FNAF fans should be treated the same way Harry Potter fans are currently treated. I'm just genuinely baffled at the apparent hypocrisy. Just seems a little unfair to me is all.

Honestly, I’d say the fan game ‘Five New Fangled Nights’ does the missing children and animatronics (including sympathizing with them) better than the mainline game. Their confusion on their circumstances, Cassie’s plot to kill the night guard to avenge their deaths and give themselves rest, frustration that they survived all 5 nights, and then remorse upon realizing they were trying to kill an innocent person. In the end, they found solace in each other and learned to make the most of their situation.

I was on YouTube yesterday watching Help Wanted 2 videos, and saw comments people made about Carnie. Some of them were Monty fans. And a few of them honestly believed Carnie outright replaced Monty.

From what I have read about the game, Monty was supposed to appear in the Bonnie Bowl mini game. His model is in the game still, and it's programmed with his jumpscare animation. Monty's face does appear as a gutter ball animation, and we even get the mechanical gators from Gator Golf, but other than that - as well as Monty plushies in one of the endings - Monty was cut.

My point is that the Carnie is a completely separate character who never had anything to do with Monty other than they share a voice actor. Blaming Carnie for Monty not appearing in the game is ludicrous.

Please don't bash the new bear, guys. He's innocent. I mean, he's a heckler, but that's not exactly illegal or immoral.

like not to get salty but why the FUCK would Scott introduce to the fans a sixth MCI victim in not even the actual games but in the fucking books that he said are meant to help in solving shit. like sorry i refuse to believe that Scott is THAT bad in story telling. like the full picture of the fnaf story might be disjointed and convoluted but there's no way it could be THAT bad. sorry i am feeling a bit spicy tonight.

I think there are two reasons why the FNAF movie has an PG-13 rating and is specifically marked “strong violent content” and “bloody images” :

A) William turns into Spring Trap (which is what everyone is expecting and is preparing for)

And/or B) there is going to be a scene that shows AT LEAST part of the missing children’s incident, and not just those sequences in the trailers. (I don’t see a lot of talk about this possibility but it’s certainly there and even likely to occur)

The reason I say this is because I was looking through the comments for Matthew Lillard’s Instagram video of him reacting to the trailer, and one of the missing children’s actors commented “I’m glad you’re nice and not like the villain you’re playing” which makes me speculate that Lillard worked with the missing children’s actors in some capacity. That could either ghost appearances… OR WE SEE HORRENDOUS MURDER

Edit: I double checked thanks to a comment and it’s rated PG-13, not rated R! I remember at one point it was switching back and forth between ratings. Tbh I wish it was Rated R just because that fits the lore of the first couple of games SO MUCH BETTER. But aw well I’ll settle for having babies in the theater
