"Why don't Ella and Bridget recognize Chloe and Red?"
Reasoning: Chloe and Red were there for a week, tops, possibly less.
It's been thirty years, give or take.
Both of them were preoccupied.
And the kids they raised aren't the exact same kids as those weird kids that appeared and disappeared within the span of one week.
I mean think of it.
Compare Red's rooms from the two movies.
Then think about Ella's behavior in 'Prefect Princess' and how Chloe is confused about it: how many other things is Chloe unaware of? How many other changes were made to the way Chloe is raised?
Red 1 was raised by a literal dictator and tyrant with no friends and no fun, cut off from Auradon, as an only child (ignoring the sister we saw briefly in d3). She grew up feared by her peers, had to watch her friends get transformed into mindless beings, and then was suddenly homeschooled (if you take the book into consideration).
Chloe 1 was sheltered, homeschooled, and a bit spoiled with an older brother.
Red 2 was raised by a loving mother, not cut off from Auradon, with a younger sister. She wasn't feared growing up. She wasn't isolated or abused. She had friends.
Chloe 2 because of 'get your hands dirty' and whatever else Og Red and Chloe did, was literally raised differently in ways we can't fathom. And she might not even HAVE an older brother.
Of course Ella and Bridget don't recognize Red and Chloe. Even if they DO have an inkling that they're very similar to those two girls it's possible they just brush it off because, hey, they're probably just confused.
Those two weird girls couldn't possibly be their own daughters.
They're probably just confused. They're probably misremembering features, right?
