Okay so tumblr has pinned posts now? So here’s my contribution.
I’ve been on tumblr for a while. & like most other adults, I was super active between 2009-2012/13. Now with the political climate here, I’m taking a tolerance break from all news and apps… except this one.
I’ve always had a thing for dark and moody, and tumblr holds too much nostalgia for me to not ever use.
So about me:
I love photography, running, creating spreadsheets, playing Stardew Valley, and I hope to get into sewing & quilting soon(ish).
My weight loss journey:
I hit my highest ever recorded weight @ 250 lbs in 2014. I was miserable, depressed, and living life was practically impossible. I would lose my breath just tying my shoes, and clothes shopping was a fucking nightmare. You could always find me in super baggy t shirts and leggings.
I lost about 40 pounds between 2014 - 2019 ish, with no movement due to depression and other circumstances.
From 2019 - 2021 I hovered between 210 & 194, and whenever I would reach 194 I would get the dopamine hit from the excitement, then I would lose focus and the cycle would continue.
2021 I switched birth controls and lost ten pounds in a week. I am on a non hormonal IUD and it is life changing. No babies + seeing actual weight loss without hormones getting in the way. Removing my hormonal birth control also alleviated some of my depression and anxiety symptoms, which resulted in a new sense of confidence. With that confidence, I finally ended things with my shit ex boyfriend.
What happens when you are single? You start working on your appearance- I bought a whole new wardrobe, and hit the dating scene. Dating while plus sized was… weird… like, I went on something like 40+ first dates in just a few months (lol) and while I knew I was pretty, my insecurities were still lurking over my shoulder. Fast forward to when I met my new boyfriend, and again the weight loss stopped.
Well, I told him my feelings and he didn’t feel the same, so a huge break up followed. I didn’t eat for ten days, quit my job and was working gigs to pay my bills. One of those gigs was Instacart, so it was all day walking & lifting, with little to no food. I think in this four month span, I went from 190ish to 167.
Without going into too much detail, my boyfriend and I got back together, living happily and lovingly together. In the first year of our reunion, I gained all that weight back.
Well we went to Disney together in January, and I was so embarrassed at our pictures. I was fat, bloated, and hated all the clothes I had to bring for the trip. When we returned, I started my latest weight loss journey.
I am now 164 as of writing this post. Now, you can still find me in baggy shirts and leggings… but this time I look way cuter than before.
I would love to find other adults on here, so if any of this speaks to you, we can follow each other.
When following a diet plan, I always reach for keto. Keto is the least restrictive feeling for me & it’s easy to stay consistent. I’ll use ketosis to also fast, my longest so far being five days. I dirty fast, so I’ll have coffee, broth, and diet drinks (and water of course) while abstaining from food.
I wake up at 430a Monday - Friday to go to the gym:
M/W: run
T/Th: lifting
F: mobility & flexibility & walking
Saturday and Sunday are usually spent rotting away in bed, but now that I’m not using social media I’ll hopefully fill that time with doing something actually productive.
I plan on posting my photography here too.
