Attempted a Susan Pevensie and then gave up
Fast studies from The Chronicles of Narnia. Like battle scenes!
Anna Popplewell as Queen Susan THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: PRINCE CASPIAN 2008 | dir. Andrew Adamson
Shrine at a spring.
Wiltshire, England.
Edmund Pevensie + finding himself in very dangerous situations and giving his siblings heart attacks
kings and queens of narnia! the pevensies rulers are figures of myth and legend, and only few remember them as children on the battlefield for the first time.
(armour is a loose mix of medieval-inspired mail and leather, and the background is an ungodly lazy attempt to avoid learning perspective.)
@pscentral event 28: throwback ↳ The Chronicles of Narnia movies + William Moseley as Peter Pevensie and Anna Popplewell as Susan Pevensie
Agdkdhdk I'm rereading The Horse and His Boy and they're crossing the desert. And. Mr Lewis I get it what you're saying here it's about genders and gender roles and gender expectations and all that but the thing is I have never ever in my life met a mare who could be described as nervous and gentle and easily persuaded to lose an argument. I've met plenty of mares who were nervous but like in the horse way where if they can't run away from the scary thing they will start kicking it instead, and I've met lots of mares who were gentle, but rarely do these traits go together, and I have never ever met a mare who'll back down from an argument
girls only want to swim naked in the ocean, eat fresh fruit, write poetry and love letters under the sun.
I don't think William Moseley gets enough credit for his portrayal of Peter in Prince Caspian. He perfectly embodied the concept of a seasoned warrior/adult king stuck in the body of a teenage boy and imo he has always deserved more praise for it. That could not have been an easy feat to pull off, especially considering he was barely into adulthood when they filmed the movie. Yet he came across as a boy who felt far older than he appeared with a wealth of life experience under his belt to back that up. Revisiting the film all these years later, I honestly think he gave the best performance out of the entire cast

I wish I were a Pevensie.
I just wanna see how Shasta and Aravis came to the "let get married " conclusion . Like was it heartfelt with tears and chortle laughter ? Or did they have a fight /roaste battle and decided to get married on the first punch ? Was chaos comedy or romantic teary eyed comedy ? I need more than "they decided to get married so to fight and make up more often " .
whenever i get sad that i don’t have friends to worship and do rituals with, I remember that birds sing love songs into the sky everyday, and the grass dances in the wind when it blows. And the clouds blush at the sunset, and the wind whistles tunes, and the bees hum, and the deer trot. And then I remember that the river runs, and the flowers open themselves to the sun, and the bugs sleep on warm leaves. and as I walk and pray, perhaps the rabbits nibbling on shrubs are praying too, perhaps that’s why the spider spun her web so beautifully. and then I remember that I’m not worshipping alone. I never was.
My take/designs on the pevensies! (They’re definitely heavily inspired by their looks in the movies.)
Beginning of the lion, the witch and the wardrobe
End of golden age-ish
I’d call this a WIP but it’s not really, mostly once we get into designing clothes in fantasy settings I feel very out of my depth, but I wanna practice more. I’m the most happy with Lucy’s but that’s also cause I most heavily referenced with hers.
Im mostly still just figuring out the clothes design for when they’re in narnia. I want brighter/more jewel toned and warmth to contrast with the more muted London clothes. And for the clothing design I want embroidery, but other than that I have no idea how I would make the designs of the narnian style in this era cohesive.
I also have vague main colours for each of them, lucy green, secondary red, edmund blue secondary brown, Susan purple secondary blue, Peter red secondary purple, and all of them use gold as well.
Re-reading (listening to, actually) The Horse and His Boy and I always forget just how much I love this book and now I need to gush about it
first of all the sheer humor. The conversations between Shasta and Bree. If a horse could hold a conversation, this is exactly how it would go.
This is probably the most political of all the Narnia books. We get an inside look at the relations between Narnia, Archenland, and Calormen. There’s intrigue! Kidnapping plots! Actual kidnappings! War plans! Talk that shows the relationships between the four Narnian royals! It’s all so awesome I can’t stand it
Our protagonists don’t know why they are constantly encountering lions but we, the readers, do. Aslan’s presence, protection, and guidance when they don’t know he’s there or that he even exists and whoops now I’m crying.
I haven’t finished it yet but I KNOW WHAT’S COMING and the battle?? Aravis and Shasta learning their own stories??? Hwin and Bree returning home????? This is the best book ever written and if you disagree you are WRONG.
anyway if I ever have a daughter I am naming her Aravis
justice for C. S. Lewis’s line “battles are ugly when women fight” being read as “women are bad fighters” and not “when women are forced to go to war, that means that the atrocities have come too close to home” and like in context of, you know, when he was living, and like, also, now, it kinda makes sense what he’s getting at
