actually ill bc burying the lightsabers together in the sands of tatooine was because they both “died” that day on mustafar. and the same day obi wan dug up their lightsabers and reunited with the force, he found out that anakin was alive.

i’m sorry but the way obi-wan and anakin are obsessed with each other is crazy to me. it’s been 10 years and vader is still crawling into every space dump to find obi-wan. it’s been 10 years and obi-wan is still dreaming about what happened. it’s been 10 years and still every inquisitor knows that vader really only cares about kenobi. it’s been 10 years and someone just mentions anakin and obi-wan goes into fight or flight mode. IT’S BEEN 10 YEARS and those f*ckers can still feel each other across the galaxy. that’s not normal, that’s just…. them.

actually obi wan (so far) has been characterized sooooo well. he’s tormented. he’s traumatized and unwilling to involve himself in current affairs at risk of making things worse. he buys luke a toy and leia gloves. he mourns his fallen fellow jedi and most of all he mourns his brother. he’s dry humored and cracks jokes when he shouldn’t. he’s witty and bright and insightful. he’s hidden and lost and cloaked. he walks into a trap bc that’s who he is. he gets out of the trap with ease bc that’s who he is. he cares so much. he loves so much. just wow.

obi wan changes his first name (but not his last name) and goes to the planet where anakin has living relatives and speaks in his silly little coruscant accent and hasn’t shaved his iconic facial hair and still wears jedi robes and yet everyone in the imperial empire is just like “girl obi wan is straight up missing and it’s impossible to find him”

The devastation, the pain, on Obi-Wan’s face and in his eyes upon learning that Anakin is still alive has come for my fucking heart, gutted me, and left me broken. This is what I wanna see, the utter despair that these two men have caused each other. I hate them. I love them so much.

hello, today i’m here to talk about the effect that obi-wan has on people, like there is something about him that everyone in star wars universe just loves, whenever it’s in a good or bad way.

you go back to prequels and the clone wars and obi-wan is just everyone’s favorite. the animals, the kids, he walks into a village and people just trust him that he will do his best for them. ironically, even the villains are just soft for obi-wan (dooku, ventress) to the point they are just obsessed with him (maul, grievous, vader, reva)

i mean, you can write this to the way obi-wan looks and the way he walks and talks, he is master jedi but that doesn’t apply for the kenobi series and yet -  haja walks to the inquisitor, when he knows reva can just easily kill him, and stalls for time. tala throws her cover away without a second thought for him. leia, the 10yo that knows him for like a day, says “bring him back” and walks alone into the dark tunel.

at this point obi-wan looks like an unwashed rat. he is grumpy dad, his hands are shaky with the lightsaber and he is just…sad. but people that know him for five minutes, still do crazy sh*t for him. well, it’s because obi-wan is the light. he is the light in leia’s analogy about being afraid of the dark. he feels safe and trustworthy in very unsafe and distrustful world. people fall for that.

notice that the only person in the galaxy that never cared for obi-wan, that ignored him and dismissed him as unimportant, was sidious. the exact opposite of everything that obi-wan represents.
