Introduction

I guess it's about time i do one of these.

I'm Nathaniel, but I also go by Adam, Nate, and Shadow. You can find most of my writing at @rwby-htes .

I've been a long time lurker in the Writeblr community, and only recently started interacting with folks here. I may be awkward/silent at times, so please bear with me.

Currently writing fanfiction for RWBY out of love for the series and as a personal project.

I tend to write stuff related to trauma of some kind, but I promise that I will post warnings for major traumas. I have also been told that I tend to write emotionally charged scenes that will send the onion ninjas to your location. Ao3 does not need a 1-5 star rating system, you just want to bring down authors writing for FREE

Ao3 does not need automatic censorship, it is an archive, therefore anything can be posted

Writing or reading about something illegal does not mean the author nor the reader condones it, if that were true, you could never read a story involving anything negative

Sometimes I wish it had a block author function, but that's less for purity culture and more to filter out these handful of specific (very prolific) people who spam tiny less-than-50-word fics, don't tag them well, and clog up search results.

It does have a block author function! That does just that, theres two levels to it too. Muting an author will hide their works from you buy wont restrict any other interactions, while a full on block blocks all interactions and hides their works.

To do it you click on the profile of the person you want to block or mute, and the buttons for the functions will be right there next to the one for subscribing to them.

Its a godsend.

"Wait, please! You can't kill him. We need him."

The man clad head to toe in dark and heavy armor pauses, greatsword held just centimeters from the chest of the orange haired huntsman-in-training, turning to look at the voice that stopped him. A black haired woman in a form fitting red dress is holding a hand out, with the other gripping her side where blood is still seeping out past her fingers. Two beowolves sit on either side of her, semi-peacefully watching the chaos around them unfold.

“He gave us information that helped pull this off. He even crippled, if not killed, that nuisance. I’m sure She would have a spot for him somewhere, and Watts can fix him up,” she explains as she stumbles closer, the armored knight stowing his sword and moving to catch her.

“Fine, Cinder. But know that I will be watching him. One step and you will be the one to handle him, okay? If you want to use Winchester, then you have to handle it if he gets out of line. I dealt with him enough this year.”

Cinder nods as she activates her semblance, cauterizing her side and hissing in pain. “I… can understand that. You did the same for me, after all.”

The knight doesn’t say another word as the two creatures of Grimm unceremoniously pick up the unconscious student, the group making their way towards an unmarked bullhead where a silver haired boy and a mocha skinned girl are performing first aid on someone with white hair.

Small update on things

It’s been a few months and there’s been no real news from me about chapter three, so I figured I’d post a small update for folks.

Chapter three is in the works, it’s just that progress has been really… REALLY slow. I promise that it’s being worked on, but life, work, and other hobbies get in the way sometimes.

The girl in red and the man clad in black armor stare at the decapitated body between them, the head having rolled off somewhere into the underbrush. "I just... can't believe you would readily do that. But I guess that's why you're Mistress' Knight?"

The black knight nods as he sheathes the sword on his hip. "Yep." His voice echoes in the helm, exaggerating the pop at the end of the word. He lets out a shrill whistle before heading west, where the lights of a village shine in the distance. "Her Majesty rescued me, and I see that she's doing the right thing. Those who refuse to even listen aren't worth keeping alive, Cinder."

The girl, Cinder, shivers as she follows the Knight, the sound of various Grimm approaching the body behind them and tearing it apart. "So now what? How do you plan to take care of the rest of your family? They're gonna on edge as long as he doesn't come back. And-" "That's enough, Cin. You know why I brought you?" The man interrupts her, stopping and turning to look at her. After seeing her shake her head, he sighs as he takes his helmet off, the fading light of the sun highlighting his scraggly hair and accenting his blue eyes. "You're going to kill the rest."

She shivers again, pulling her arms around herself. "You know if I go back alone they're just going to attack. I... I haven't fought anyone before..."

The knight places a hand on her shoulder as he looks into her eyes. "We both know that's a lie, Cinder. After all, you burned down a good few buildings in Atlas and avoided detection before we found you. So, either get going and do the same here, or you're going back to Atlas without a hand. I'm sure my Queen will understand if I return without you."

The two stay like that for a while, Cinder shifting from one foot to the other while the knight just calmly stares her down. Eventually, Cinder relents and breaks her gaze away. "Fine, I'll go set fire to the doors and windows. Everyone should be home and asleep at least."

Just want to put this out there since I’ve been getting asks wanting me to help spread gofundme campaigns that are caused by the events currently going on or have previously gone on in various parts of the world that are still affecting people’s lives.

I’m not going to share them on my blogs for the sole fact that I cannot vouch for the integrity of the people hosting those campaigns, because I personally know too many people who have been burned by false gofundmes that looked legit.

If some of those who have reached to me are legit, I apologize for not sharing and trying to help, but I hope you can understand my position in this. I want to help, but I also don’t want to be blamed if, somehow, a fake campaign makes it through to my asks and gets shared through me. I’ve seen too many people I care about get scammed by, share, and get blamed for false campaigns in the past and am trying to protect my own image, which I know is selfish for doing.

I hope you guys can at least understand where I’m coming from with this, and I wish you all the best of luck.

Which oc has the most meaning to you?

I would have to say my first one, who, coincidentally, this blog is named after.

I was in a not so good place at the time, but a family member introduced me to a show and it helped me find others that I could wholly interact with, as well as gave me the drive to come back to writing.
