“Rosa was a highly skilled and powerful umbra witch as well as bayonetta’s beloved mother. Long ago she was imprisoned with chain which suppressed her magic power for breaking the laws of the Umbra.”
y’all, i feel like i need to remind y’all that there’s a huge difference between ignoring what’s going on, and taking a mental break because you’re exhausted with trying to keep up with the situation in the country right now. this shit is no joke and is weighing incredibly heavy on people such as myself and if you need to take a break from this and just log out, please do. please take care of yourself and don’t feel bad that you’re not keeping up with things at every second of the day.
god i keep reading the notes on this post about being privileged to take a break and i feel the need to explain a few things. one, a black man wrote this post. two, i clearly emphasized the point of ignoring what’s going on. I understand that non black people have the privilege of being able to “log out” and not be effected by this. black people like myself don’t have that privilege of just being able to log out. what i’m trying to say with this post is that you shouldn’t be feeling like shit all day and having anxiety attacks and generally feeling incredibly overwhelmed all the time. taking care of your mental health is not up for fucking debate and I don’t care what the color of your skin is, this applies to everyone. take care of yourself mentally and physically. i can’t believe I have to argue that people have the right to care for themselves amidst all the shit going on in the world today.
The Mummy (1999) dir. Stephen Sommers
I’m old enough, though not by a whole lot, to clearly remember a time when my every movement wasn’t monitored and my every social interaction wasn’t a commodity to be analyzed and sold. When my need to connect with my fellow humans didn’t mean being a product and those connections weren’t a list of fungible data points. I remember, though dimly, when the Internet was this miraculous new thing that was going to save us all by making free knowledge and instant communication accessible to everyone with a computer. The Internet was supposed to be our real-life ansible.
The idea that people who are only a couple of years younger than me just didn’t get to experience that at all blows my mind if I think about it, which I try not to.
So like, Listen: The way things are is not normal. And, dammit, it wasn’t supposed to be like this. And, more importantly: It doesn’t have to be like this.
We can’t turn back the clock, but we shouldn’t even if we could. What now serves profit can be made to serve human need, and what’s broken can be fixed.
We built this damned thing. We ought to be the ones controlling it.

this is mad funny lmaooo
Not with that attitude you can’t
Listen, this might sound funny at first, but consider:
Without enough lube (natural or artificial), you WILL end up chafed. It hurts, it burns, and it can cause infection.
Even with enough lube, mucking about in your naughty bits too much–you know, the kind of thing you have to do for several hours a day if you’re a cam girl–can cause yeast infections and UTIs. UTIs can cause scarring that can cause intercourse (and masturbation) to become painful.
The kind of extreme, prolonged sexual intercourse that porn is known for can cause both rectal and vaginal prolapse, which is when your rectum or vagina literally falls out of your body due to being put under too much stress. Also, um. I’m just saying, doing the same motion with your wrists over and over without breaks, the way you’d have to do with a dildo, can cause carpal tunnel syndrome. There’s a similar condition called tennis elbow that can also occur. These women are going to suffer work-related injuries because of this. Some of those injuries will require surgery. And while sex-related prolapse is pretty rare, it does have a higher incidence among sex workers, and higher still among overworked sex workers.
So no, this cam girl is absolutely right. She cannot safely and effectively do her job for hours a day, every day, and the injury she suffers as a result could impair her ability to enjoy sex or, possibly, even kill her. What needs to be happening right now is that cam girls and other sex workers need to have unemployment and/or some kind of stimulus funds available to them, just like people in any other job, so they can work safely without worrying about going hungry.
DESTIGMATIZE SEX WORK. SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL SEX WORKERS AND THE RIGHTS THEY SHOULD HAVE.
you can get vaginal prolapse???? Why did no one ever teach me anything about my body im
Yep. It’s one of the reasons the Quiverfull movement is so dangerous. Women are literally encouraged to give birth until their reproductive organs can’t take it anymore.
This is where we remind our local sex workers that they should (in the US) join the IWW under Department 600: Human Services, Industrial Union #690. (That number is not a joke, for the record.)
It won’t guarantee any immediate changes of the way you’re treated, but you’ll have more support and more people to connect with to help improve things!
I will reblog this just cause this is some serious info
Western history loves to brag about their geniuses, philosophers, thinkers, and innovators throughout history but as far as I know, nobody talks about geniuses in non western history. Why can’t an Aztec community have their neighborhood Einstein who loved to study engineering and physics and helped build an efficient-running town?
Reblog is you're uncomfortable with how eurocentric our understanding of history is.

Tumblr deleted my long ass rant while I was in the middle of writing it so you’re spared and will only get a summed up version
Long story short; your abs are supposed to be covered with a healthy, protective layer of fat. The shape Jason Momoa is in during his movies is achieved by a diet designed to lower his body fat to unhealthy numbers, dehydrating him and enhancing his abs with make up. This is what ripped, muscular, healthy person looks like on their off time. If you think this is a dad bod, for the love of everything that is holy, shut up and absolutely never comment on a man’s body ever again. I mean hell, you can still see his damn v-line, what fucking dad bod has that?!
Don’t believe me? Google some bodybuilders who are off their contest diet. The men who literally make a living for having defined muscles. For 360 days a year, they do not look like the way you think they do. During a bodybuilding contest, these men’s body fat is under 7%, they’re dehydeated and covered in fake tan that helps the muscles show up. And it’s literally only for that day, because it’s extremely unhealthy. Same goes for actors who are known for being ripped - they’re at their worst when they’re filming. This exact same shit happened with Vin Diesel few years ago with people getting a paparazzi shot of his “beer belly” and I’m genuinely worried of the young men who grow up in this society thinking being muscular means having defined abs 24/7.
Jason Momoa looks ripped and healthy, yall are just blind with unrealistic standards.
“This is what actors (& models & bodybuilders) do. If you see them with razor cut abs, they have been on a low carb, water-reducing diet to get there. You cannot retain that and be healthy. When we shot WOLVES, Jason asked me, “Do I have to have abs n’ shit for this?” I said no.”
- David Hayter, director, Wolves
“The wood chopping scene in The Wolverine was all the footage they could get before Hugh Jackman passed out from dehydration. Dehydration and steroids are the big secret behind Hollywood muscle definition.”
- My name is Grant
“Yeah there was a huge piece a few years ago about the prevalence of doping in the aftermath of Dark Knight (roughly), it became an arms race of every male actor going on roids for definition. Compare Jackman in XMen 1 from 2000 to him in Logan, for example.”

I like how they call starvation and dehydration a “trick” :)))))))))
I KNOW. Fucking killed me. “There’s this neat trick where we encourage disordered eating and dehydration. That’s what bodies should look like!!! This is the Norm!!”
Wait so that text wasn’t from a criticism of abusive practices?? It was just “here’s how we did this neat-O special effect!!!!!” ???!???
Thought was timely to reblog this with all the flack R Patz is getting for choosing not to work out right now. You may not like him, but the man had a point.
SO glad this is on my dash again. My ex husband was a competative body builder and honestly, the shit he put himself through every day was frankly ludicrous. And in the run up to a competition? Jesus fuck, it was horrific.

People who are in self quarantine really have no idea how weird it is to be a base level essential worker through this whole thing. I don’t mean a doctor or a nurse or someone else working round the clock to put a stop to it or find a cure. I mean a truck driver or a gas station attendant or a retail clerk. Because everything is basically normal, only a little bit off, and then again not as off as it should be.
Every day I get up. I go to work. I sell people things. There are fewer people coming through and they’re buying more because they’re stocking up or they haven’t been shopping in a month, but there are still lines, like always. There’s plexiglass between the cashiers and the customers, and no dividers, and we have to continually yell at people not to put their items on the belt until we’ve finished the previous transaction, and they ignore us or argue with us, same as always. The more rules we have, the more rules there are for people to ignore. And the longer it goes on, the more normal it gets. Pretty much no one thanks us for coming in to work anymore. People are starting to act like we should never, ever run out of an item. It’s just blanket assumed that we will have hand sanitizer and soap and toilet paper and people are shocked when we say we’re out. But there are still ads on the TV in the break room telling us all to stay home and the more the customers ignore social distancing, the more management puts pressure on us to set a good example, until we’re expected to follow standards that are physically impossible.
The longer this goes on, the less ‘essential’ I feel.
And then I come home and get online as always and there are all of these people asking what you’re doing while you’re stuck in quarantine and coming up with fun things to do when you’re in quarantine and talking about what you’re going to do when this whole thing is over and you can finally, finally leave your house. Everyone just seems to assume that you, the person reading their words, are in quarantine, because everyone’s in quarantine. It’s like this big, international, universal experience that you’re not a part of.
It feels like fifteen years from now everyone in the world will be looking at each other and asking “Remember what it was like to be cooped up in the house? Wasn’t it awful?” and I’ll just be sitting there going “…….no, I don’t. I didn’t do that.” And people will look at me and wonder how I could not know.
