Ok I absolutely love my clients and what I do but as a creative artist I like to maintain a certain atmosphere. As much as clients expect professionalism from their makeup artist we too expect the same in return. My biggest pet peeve is people being on their phones while I'm performing a service. If your eyebrows arent symmetrical, wing is crooked lip stick smudge blame no one but yourself. Kindly respect both our time by 1. putting your phone away or wear ear pods 2. Leave those beautifully active children at home 3. Ask all product questions at an appropriate time. Unless you have allergies definitely mention that prior to your visit 4. If you don't trust my skills stay out my seat..period! 5. If my prices arent in your budget I understand, do you sis. Don't try and barter me, this ain't Canal street . 6. One of the top questions I get from potential makeup clients is ..."Do you/have you done my shade"..not to come off cocky but "Do I ? !!". As a brown girl of several hues I completely get the frustration and anxiety of finding a makeup artist who gets it. I've made it my personal mission to master properly color matching, correcting, highlighting and accentuating the features that are unique to us.
