Face practice feat. One Piece! I didn't intend for this to be a hat focused piece but halfway through it I decided to commit to the bit lol
Below is the timelapse and some other things about my process
You can really see me growing more confident as time goes on lol
I was trying to focus on the facial planes and different head shapes so I tried to make them all as unique as I could
Not much to say about Law since he was my first and I was doing things pretty by the book, just trying to get better at visualizing what I needed and conveying what I wanted. Gave him more melanin because everyone looks better with more melanin
Then onto Ace. Both of their faces are pretty triangular but Ace has more chin, but I think that got lost in the end because of the neck shadows, but I really like how his nose turned out
I swear I spent like five hours struggling with Robin. I just couldn't get her to look like Robin and not some other random person with bangs so in the end I kinda just gave up. I don't know if choosing a reference picture where she has a hat is what ended up helping but it made me decide to commit to hat bit. She has caramel eyes because I don't like drawing blue eyes
Keeping with the hat theme, obviously I had to draw Luffy next and it was surprisingly easy considering how much I had struggled with Robin. I decided to play more with the features and deviate from canon a little bit and so I decided to give him a crooked nose, like he broke it in a fight once and it healed wrong. I know he's rubber and all but it felt right. Same with the dimples. It makes his smile even more attention grabbing
The only other main ish characters with prominent hats were Sabo and Usopp, so I decided to finish ASL first. Since Sabo was a noble and he still dresses like that I decided to give him very stereotypical Prince Charming features. Very straight nose, wind tousled golden locks of hair, bright blue eyes and a very defined jaw. He kinda looks like he's mewing. He looks like such an asshole, I'm truly sorry but it had to be done
Last but not least, Usopp. First I debated between Dressrosa vs Fishmen Island, and decided on FMI because the hat was simpler. Struggled with his nose a bit but I think I got it. Realized at the end I forgot his earmuff thingys but oh well. It is what it is
I'm very satisfied with how I did, especially considering how long it had been since I'd last drawn anything

Bakugou getting his face squished by Deku's biceps, as he should!! His holding up his phone to take a picture and we can see that his phone has a yellow-blue-and-red all might phone case with stickers. The stickers are of All Might's face, a skull, the UA logo and a ladybug.
