the whole  “nonbinary is just woman with a fancy word” concept is so wildly disrespectful and transphobic towards the nonbinary community as whole like.. on every level . i think even for feminine aligned nb people it’s really disrespectful to their nonbinary identity. this trend of erasing nonbinary-ness under the lense of binary gender standards really is one of the most acceptable forms of transphobia

I feel like the entire adhd community could greatly benefit from learning about cognitive distortions and various ways to break the cycle. It’s been amazingly helpful to me in partial even though I’ve only been here for 8 days!

Several people have asked what cognitive distortions are and basically they’re thought processes that every human has that are at best disruptive, at worst distructive. People with developmental differences or mental disorders tend to have more cognitive distortions than your average neurotypical person.

Here’s a pretty good pic that describes the most common of the lot:

You can find more resources like this in DBT manuals (you can find free dbt worksheets online, you don’t have to buy the whole book) and many websites have lists of how to break the cycle of unhealthy thought patterns.

as much as i appreciate the increased usage of they/them pronouns as a non binary person that uses those pronouns, y'all need to also understand that using they/them on someone who does not use they/them is still misgendering
