Well, looks like I’m a single woman.
Guess who’s getting a divorce? THIS GAL!! After almost 14 years. I feel sick, I’m angry, I’m mourning, and this is all shit. But I’m gonna figure it out and I will rock this single mom shit. I kinda have to.

10 Things America should do if we actually value democracy
Automatic voter registration for all citizens
Allow all citizens of voting age to vote, including felons and people currently incarcerated
Mandatory voting
Mail in voting available for all
Election day becoming several days, including a weekend
Abolish the electoral college and move to the popular vote in presidential elections
Institute ranked voting systems to encourage third parties.
Eliminate gerrymandered districts (moving, perhaps, to a proportional party vote) in state elections
Ban corporations from donating money to politicians
Restrict active campaigning AND political fundraising to only 8 weeks before election day.
Not sure about the mandatory voting? Like, what do you do if someone doesn’t vote? Everything else seems like a good idea, though.
Using Australia as a model, the purpose of making voting compulsory is that it obligates the government to make sure voting is ACCESSIBLE to every citizen, no matter what. Hence automatic registration, universal mail in ballots, etc.
I think the fine for not voting is like…$26 and its perfectly legal to go vote and write “abstain” on your ballot if thats a thing someone wants to do. Which I like, because it makes abstaining a deliberate political action and not a default “whoops forgot” deal.
Help for when You’re Feeling Broken
1. Share your story with someone. Often it helps to put the sadness into words.
2. Try to detach and unplug for a while.
3. Respect your need for space, and a period of low stress.
4. Allow yourself to feel all the negative feelings.
5. Take care of your body and your physical needs.
6. Treat yourself with kindness, and invest in self care.
7. Believe that you are able to recover, and go on.
You didn’t love her. You just didn’t want to be alone. Or maybe, maybe she was good for your ego. Or maybe she made you feel better about your miserable life, but you didn’t love her. Because you don’t destroy people you love.

Hellllllo, stability! Still adjusting and waiting for them to get in my system so I can start to see improvement, but we’re starting and I’m so fucking thrilled. Working with my counselor to see if there are any other underlying or co-occurring issues. Specifically bipolar 2 or borderline personality disorder. Only time will tell.
Also- Shrooms. Because good lort I need relief from depression and anxiety. Tried them last night for the first time after researching them for well over a year. Microdosing so no crazy trip (didn’t want one anyway), but everything was vivid and relaxing. I feel good today. The effects are supposed to last for up to 3-4mths so maybe this will help. We shall see...
If you suffer from depression …
1. Instead of attacking yourself for how you feel, and demanding that you change, and “improve” who you are, be compassionate and caring and kind towards yourself.
2. Remind yourself this struggle is NOT something you chose. It’s something that’s unwanted, and is hard to fight against.
3. Don’t look to other people to help, and bolster, you. They also have their struggles, so their help is limited.
4. Our feelings are affected by a lot of different things – and that affects our thinking – so our thinking’s often wrong!
5. Feelings often hit us for no apparent reason – so if we’ll just be patient, we may find they’ll change again.
6. Remember you are loveable and truly valuable. Don’t listen to your feelings, and the lies you hear them speak.
7. Do something that distracts you – like some work or exercise – but don’t add too much pressure while you’re feeling low and weak.

Kindness is often mistaken for softness and let me tell you, friends….that is a mistake you don’t want to make.
Kind people are not born that way, they do not stumble into it, kind people are forged in fire and darkness and imploding stars…they have steel cores. Throw a punch and you’re going to break your hand.
Kind people are kind because they know firsthand that life isn’t.
