This blog is primarily MINECRAFT. Specifically, for not only my own MC oc lore but Aphmau's MCD series as well as StateSMP!

Fandom ☆

Again, this is a Minecraft blog, so the fandoms I'll primarily be interacting or talking about will be Minecraft related. I'm not a huge fan of hermitcraft + other major smps [UPDATE: StateSMP is the ONLY exception], so you won't really be seeing much of that here, but I do enjoy other MCYT content. I'll be MAINLY talking about the Aphmau fandom; SPECIFICALLY MCD. But here is the main MC content I'll be posting and talking about:

That being said, for Aphverse fics, I will primarily be focusing on either rewrites, drabbles, or expanding on series because I've been mentally ill over these series for too long not to get a proper ending.

I'm currently in the process of doing an MCD rewrite. Because let's be honest, we are ALL disappointed and heartbroken with the way it went. And I can't stand not having closure for such a treasured part of my childhood. I like the concepts that were brought out in Rebirth, but I MISS the mods, chaos, and charm that came from s1. So this rewrite is gonna be a very interesting conglomeration of present-day Minecraft, MCD season 1 w/mods, and bits from Rebirth. I'm gonna be highlighting lore, worldbuilding, found family, and romance. Going in depth about the regions, the Divine Warriors, the other races that populate the world, the relics, magics, etc. As for romance, the end game ship is going to be Garrancezoeymau (Garroth X Laurence X Aphmau X Zoey). Cause we all know how unfair it was for those 4 not to end up together [they all got two hands to hold each other's, and I'm gonna make them all kiss]. I am NOT an Aarmau fan or shipper in the slightest, so PLEASE don't ask about them being a couple in any post I make. They will NOT be getting together, but I will make sure their dynamic is interesting. As well as focusing on the other characters and making sure they get the appropriate love they deserve as well. We will NOT be letting characters be forgotten in this household. Because MCD Phoenix Drop is about COMMUNITY and FAMILY, and just how far you're willing to go for them. Also, I'm exploring and expanding everyone's relationships/friendships with each other. Cause some of the dynamics we didn't get enough of or didn't see are so SCRUMPTIOUS (*ahem* Lucinda and Laurence *ahem* *ahem* Zoey, Aphmau, Levin and Malachi and the rest of the village *ahem*)

I want to make a big character analysis post about garroth because not only do fans who hate him mischaracize him, the show itself does as well. Garroths betrayal during the end of season 1 AT ITS CORE is out of character and it was that out of character action that led us to the almost more egregious on of his blow up at aphmau at the end of season 2. Something even jess herself says she regrets because garroth wouldnt do that. And then in rebirth they make him significantly more angry and that's just NOT garroth romeave okay that's not him.

One thing I cannot stand is whenever people act like Laurance is significantly better morality wise then Garroth (even before the sk transformation) or vise versa.

Many of the icky things they do are quite comparable despite their heavy personality and flaw differences.

I don't think it's a problem not to include stuff like their entitlement over Aphmau in your rewrite and headcanons, it's fiction and we don't always want to think about real life stuff like misogyny. Especially when they're more then that and they have so much flaws outside of that.

But idk, it ircks me when people continuesly give one of them the benefit of the doubt where they don't give the other. It's frankly hypocritical.

Ofcourse you can be a Garroth fan and criticise Laurance, or vise versa. But I personally just cannot stand it when people act like one of them is objectively much better then the other.

okay i know its sort of cursed but i'm haunted by the idea where aphblr makes an MCD re-write on ao3 but every new chapter has a different author and you just have to roll with whatever the previous person wrote, like the ultimate exquisite corpse story.

it would be like a NIGHTMARE to edit but I can't say the idea doesn't compel me

Writing Notes: Active & Passive Voice

The action expressed by a clause can often be viewed in either of two ways:

The dog chased the cat.

The cat was chased by the dog.

The above contrast is referred to as voice.

The first type of construction is known as the active voice.

The second, which is far less common, is the passive voice.

Most verbs which take an object (transitive verbs) can appear in both active and passive constructions:

kick, jump, eat, break, etc.

There are just a few exceptions, such as resemble and most uses of have: "I had a car" does not transform into "A car was had by me."

The passive is infrequent in speech.

In writing, it is more common in informative than in imaginative prose, especially in contexts which demand an objective, impersonal style, such as scientific and official publications.

When it is overused, it tends to attract criticism, especially from those campaigning for clearer forms of English in official documents, and many writers have been influenced by their arguments.

But passives cannot be dispensed with entirely:

They give writers the option of an impersonal style, which can be very useful in contexts where it is irrelevant to state who actually carried out an action.

That elements X and Y were mixed to form compound Z is usually the important point, not that it was me, Mary, John, or Dr Smith who did the mixing.

How to Form Passives from Actives

Move the subject of the active verb to the end of the clause, making it the passive agent. Add "by".

Move the object of the active verb to the front of the clause, making it the passive subject.

Replace the active verb phrase by a passive one – usually a form of the auxiliary verb "be" followed by the -ed participle.

Minecraft Wiki is independent again!!

Yahoo!!! No more FANDOM wiki!!! Find the new minecraft wiki at minecraft.wiki!!

I thought it would be good to make a little PSA post with summarised information on why they moved from FANDOM!

Why did they move?

FANDOM is notoriously a bad wiki for both readers and editors alike. This is due to the insane amount of ads, the site layout, the lag, the fact that FANDOM can just take your wiki from you, etc has made the minecraft wiki decide to move

Because of the lack of agency the minecraft wiki has over its own wiki, they had a long discussion and vote with the community on what wiki platform to move towards. You can view both discussions here and here

By moving to a more independent wiki, they can provide a much better and friendlier service.

What's improved with the new wiki?

New site look, lacking the ugly FANDOM yellow sidebar and removing all other unnecessary bloat! This also includes a dark mode option and other custom settings.

Faster load times! I have incredibly good internet, and even I notice the STARK difference between the load times of FANDOM and the official wiki!

Less ads! At the moment they have no ads, but they do intend to have at least one. The placement of which will be discussed with the community to ensure minimal disruption to the user.

Better search functionality! FANDOM's search is notoriously bad at giving you the answers you need. Now they can have a more robust search function that more accurately brings users to what they are looking for.

No age popups- Unlike FANDOM this wiki does not need to know if you're a child or adult.

Anonymous editing has returned! Users can now once again anonymously contribute to the site!

HOWEVER. THE MINECRAFT WIKI NEEDS YOUR HELP!

FANDOM refuses to close old wiki's that have moved away, and so they will continue to show up in search domains. The old domains such as minecraft.gamepedia.com and minecraftwiki.net are also permanently attached to the FANDOM wiki.

In order to help the new wiki be successful, you can help out in the following way:

Spread the word!

Don't interact with FANDOM links. The less people interact with FANDOM, the more google knows that people are looking for the official wiki and not the FANDOM one!

Dont use the old links, again for the same reason as above!

And of course, improve the wiki :D! Since you don't need an account to make edits, see what you can contribute!
