as a physically disabled person I'm used to people only noticing accessibility issues if they are temporarily disabled. so this disability pride month I'm proud to be partnering with this baseball bat...
"Pride month is over"
WRONG! Your pride month is over! Me and all the other disabled queers are having pride month two: disability edition

shout out to trans people who:
have an uncommon name
have a noun/animal/number name
have a name taken from a character/media they enjoy
have multiple names
have no name as of now/at all
have a more masc/fem/neutral vers of their birthname
have the name of what their parents would've named them
decide to keep their birthname
So I asked nonbinary reddit this a while back:
And they really went all out, here are some of my favorite responses:
And of course, the most confusing of all to cis people:
Link to the original if you wanna see more responses!
Edit: first off, wow I did not expect this to take off like it did, thank you!
Second, this somehow made it onto TERF and anti-sjw tumblr and their replies are just proof they have no sense of humor.

[ID: Eight userboxes, all grey with black text reading "This user hits abelists with their mobility aids", but each has a different associated picture in silhouette style. They are a person wielding a cane like a sword, a cane, an underarm crutch, a forearm crutch, a person running over someone else with a wheelchair, a person weilding a walker, a walker, and a roller /End ID]

bro i am completely disconnected from reality right now
Turning Red really said "you have the right to explore and embrace your identity especially as a teenager when it's the most important and you can't let family hinder or take it away from you at the risk of losing their validation. Also turning into a giant red panda is awesome."
“Honoring your parents sounds great, but if you take it too far, well you might forget to honor yourself.”
this first line had me sobbing already
Things no one warned me about using a cane for the first time:
1) You are most certainly going to end up tripping yourself with it.
Yes, it will be embarrassing. But also a little funny. Just pretend it didn’t happen, eventually it’s gonna happen less often.
2) if you carry a purse, carry it on the OPPOSITE side you use the cane on.
If you don’t your bag will end up thunking against the cane. It’s weird.
3) Speaking of carrying things; it might seem obvious but your carrying capacity is now reduced to one hand (and your mouth).
This is why I carry a purse.
4) You should keep hand sanitizer with you.
Bathrooms don’t usually have hand sanitizer in the stall, and to get OUt of the bathroom to wash your hands, you need to touch the cane (with possibly dirty hands!). Hand sanitizer your hands in the bathroom stall, then go and actually wash them in the sink so no one judges you.
5) Okay I was “prepared” for this one, but people WILL stare.
And touch. And ask really, really invasive questions. Such as “what’s wrong with you?” or “how’d you hurt yourself”. Some people might try to “help” by moving you/your cane.
Feel free to smack them. With the cane.
6) When you see other disabled folk in public you WILL have a moment™️
Bonus points if you’re the same age. Or have the same cane. It’s a spiritual connection.
And lastly, and the most annoying
7) CANES JUST WANNA FALL OVER!
no matter what you do, no matter how securely you think you’ve rested your cane, it WILL fall to the ground. Loudly. During the worst moments. Canes sense fear and they have zero mercy.
Helpful!!!! Thank you
Guys who use mobility aids are hot
If you use a mobility aid you are automatically 10x hotter I don’t make the rules
