The next time I see one of those “millenials will be photographing the end of the world” posts I’m gonna scream because let me tell you, I just went through a natural disaster and Snapchat literally saved people’s lives. Thanks to snapchat I knew exactly what roads were flooded, what stores were open, what my HOUSE looked like (since I wasn’t there), and which shelters I could go to. People were snapping/tweeting asking to be rescued and THEY WERE. I didn’t get my news from the tv, I saw it in real time on social media and I will never not be grateful for that.

Also like… yeah no shit we’ll be taking pictures of the end of the world, why do old people say that like its a bad thing? It’s called documenting, and people have literally always done it. When the Titanic sank, people were sketching it from the lifeboats. When Mount St. Helens erupted, a photographer named Robert Lansburg realized he was too close to possibly escape, so he took pictures until the last possible second, put his camera in his bag, then sheltered it with his body. The film was undamaged, and his pictures were groundbreaking contributions to geology, because obviously nobody had ever witnessed a volcanic eruption that close. The only reason any footage exists of the first plane hitting the world trade center on 9/11 is pure luck; a group of students were filming a documentary, and thought a plane flying into the city was interesting enough to film. If they hadn’t been outside at that moment, with the camera rolling, on a street with a clear view of the towers, there would be no visual record of the first plane.

Yes their people have criminal records. They have marksman and terrorist skills. They are way ahead of the game from their enemy. They steal fetuses from abortion clinic dumpsters and disposal receptacles and pass, sometimes, hundreds of mutilated fetuses between households to be stored in boxes or ziploc baggies in freezers and in the family garage. The rotting deteriorating fetuses are then thrown at senators, congressmen, or just about anyone involved in government who is a Democrat. These people who are terrorists are also people who have basically the same beliefs as white supremists [sic] who also claim to act and embrace their ideals on the grounds of GAWD. They post names, addresses, and phone numbers of patients scheduled to have abortions and the doctors to be performing the operation. They have a computer network of information available everywhere in the united states. Right wing is the foulest, dirtiest, insult a person could be called. These people hate minorities of all color, they will perform mass extermination of everything that is not white, god fearing and right wing. R is for Republican. Right now in the state of Florida there are no available abortion doctors or clinics to be serviced by. Ethnic cleansing is going on right now in the inner cities of the united states. blacks, hispanics, and others are being exterminated before they can reach the fifth grade. The Right wing Republicans are responsible for releasing crack and AIDS in our inner cityies. just write a diary, it has helped me sooo much and i dare say it has been the most developing thing i’ve done while learning french, nothing else compares

1. you’re exposed to the language daily

2. you quickly see which words are missing from your vocabulary

3. you learn to write about the things you think about a lot

4. learning to actually think in your target language

5. having to look up words and when reading the entry back a couple of days later you can’t even remember which words you didn’t know

6. going back to the earlier entries and seeing all the mistakes and knowing how much better you’ve become

7. when you’ve been writing for a few months and your target language becomes a natural way for expressing yourself

8. when you’ve been writing for a few months and you start seeing the diary writing as a way of self-expression and stressrelief, and the language learning aspect becomes natural and secondary

9. filling out a whole book using only your target language and physically seeing how much you’ve accomplished

Things that can Destroy your Motivation

1. Not having goals. You can’t reach your goals if you don’t know what they are.

2. Choosing goals that don’t inspire you. You won’t be able to keep on going if the prize at the end doesn’t really matter to you.

3. Expecting immediate results. Anything worthwhile is a battle and a struggle. It takes times and effort to bring about a change.

4. Lack of support. We all need someone to believe in us and to be our cheerleader when we start to feel discouraged.

5. Not believing in yourself. As Henry Ford so wisely said: “Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t, you’re right.”

6. Feeling bored. Most success involves a lot of humdrum work, and repeatedly doing the same kind of stuff. But each day brings you closer to achieving what you want.

7. Inaction and laziness. You have to work the plan before the plan will work … and dreams are only dream till you turn your thoughts to actions. Also, it’s crucially important that you manage your time well, and you don’t get distracted or procrastinate.

8. Being around negative people. There are plenty of people who only see the flaws, and whose eyes are on the problems, and the absence of solutions. If you hang out with them, you will lose your zest and passion, and your positive outlook will soon be undermined.

9. Comparing yourself to others. We each are individuals, and we start from different places; we all face our challenges, and work at different rates. Remember “it’s your journey”. Be patient with yourself.

10. Encountering setbacks. No matter how great your plans, or your level of commitment, you’re bound to face some setbacks and encounter obstacles. That’s a normal part of growth – just keep going when life’s tough.

FINALLY. And the weather had the generosity to comply and be nice and cool. Though it rained again today. We’ve already gotten over our yearly rain average since May, no joke. But autumn rain is a little different, in that it’s not going to bring oppressive humidity on top of high temperatures.
