Curiosity killed the cat|| Keira and Klaus
Klaus was a bit apprehensive about her going to the tailors. What if she thought him some kind of creep that had lured her there, but the look on her face meant that he couldn’t dent her. He sighed and went into his pocket for his keys, not wanting to disappoint her further.
“I suppose you knew this was my shop then?” He wiggled the key into the rusty old lock, the door opening up with a ‘click’. He allowed her to walk in first, following in after her. It hadn’t been long since he had closed up, so all of the dazzling lights that focused on the displays were still on.
“Look at anything you want! Its all high quality, I promise!” Klaus took pride in his work, he hoped that she would at least notice the finer quality of it all. If she was true about her blue blood, then she must be able to see it, anyone with working eyes could, and anyone else with hands could feel it.
He watched her look around and then he had a marvelous idea. While she was looking at one thing or another, he went into the back of the shop. The back was always a mess, with pins and swatches laying around most of the place, it was difficult to find what he was looking for. If this was really the first time that she had ever stepped away from her house, then she should have something to remember it by. And what was more perfect than a broach?
When he finally did, he went to walk back into the main front of the shop, ready to present her with the gift.
Keira only just realized that the shop must belong to Klaus. She thought it was odd to only have a single clothing store in the entire town, so, naturally, she assumed he may have operated a different shop. Apparently, that was not the case. He seemed to be, quite possibly, a tailor at the only clothing boutique for miles. Wouldn’t he be kept entirely too busy if he were to make the clothes himself? Did people around the town simply not own large wardrobes?
She stepped into the shop after him, the door pulling itself shut against her back. It really was a nice little store. The walls were lined with all sorts of dresses, suits, and accessories. While the outside of the store seemed rather set-away, Keira felt it played into the overall feeling of the shop he was clearly going for- a little hole in the wall.
She stepped over and felt the hem of one of the dresses that hung on the left side of the shop. It was rather pretty, so she took it down and held it in her arms. She then noticed an adorable jacket that would match the dress. She took that, too, only after pulling a pair of gloves out of the display drawer.
A few moments later, she spotted a shawl sitting on a shelf towards the back of the shop. She reached up and pulled it down. It was very thin and made of lace, and while it wouldn’t do much to keep her warm, she decided it was her favorite thing in the store. With some effort, she placed it atop the pile in her arms.
Her eyes widened as Klaus appeared again in the doorway; she had nearly forgotten he was there. She pressed her lips together, cheeks puffed out slightly in an effort to hold all the clothing in her arms. She looked determined as she hoisted the pile onto the table and dropped a bag of gold next to it.
Klaus was quite surprised when he watched her drop an entire pile of clothing on the counter. Then again, it only made sense that she would buy something. After all, she was in a clothing store. He quickly looked over the things that she was buying, checking the price tags for the adorable dress. He wasn’t so stingy that he’d over charge her.
He was quite happy with what she was buying, most of them he had personally made and they all went fetchingly with each other. The broach would only make it even better. He opened the small bag, only taking what the clothes were worth. “Here, your change!” He gave her a smile, going to drop the bag back into her hands. “I don’t care whether you’re of blue blood or not… People wouldn’t come back if I kept all their change.” He went down to the back of the old counter, grabbing a bag for her to put all of the clothing in. Hopefully she wouldn’t have any difficulty carrying it but knowing Klaus, he’d end up carrying it all for her anyway. If she allowed him. “Oh! And another thing!” He took out the broach from his pocket, placing it into her other hand. “It’s to celebrate your first time coming down to town! Hopefully it won’t be your last!” He gave her a wink, his flirtatious nature getting the better of him. “But I’ll be upset if you don’t come back... Even if it isn’t for clothes.” It was a good job that he wasn’t supposed to be working now. He sighed, finally getting out from behind the counter. He was rather happy though, opening the till was worth playing about with someone. He just hoped that he hadn’t creeped her out. That was the last that he needed.
