Finished this cross-stitch from @shitpostsampler today! I made an error somewhere but couldn’t figure it out 😂 so I fudged it and it’s fine! Working with variegated floss was fun though.

Okay. Random question but how THE FUCK do you embroider eyes????

I have been trying for TWO DAYS and cannot get them to look right!

Ugh, I’m never embroidering a manga panel again, I swear. 💀💀💀💀💀

I’ve never thought that much about how I do it but I can do my best to explain!

I’m not sure if you mean filled in eyes or just circles. I find the key to getting decent curved embroidery lines is to make each stitch a little wider than you think you need. So if I’m stitching to a pattern, I go slightly outside the line. I use backstitch, but I’ve heard a lot of people say outline stitch is good for curves, so maybe look up on tutorials on it!

As far as filling in eyes goes, I guess I just leave the highlights empty, fill in the pupil, and then sort of blend the iris colors together? I don’t worry about the iris being a little messy, I think it looks more organic that way. Erwin for example:
