Hi, Deer!! So, I noticed a couple posts about the AI scammers messaging you, so I thought I'd share a tip for anyone who wants to avoid getting these messages
If you go to blog settings there's this option:
This makes sure those AI scammers won't message you!
Hope this helps :)
how did i not know about this option 😭 thank you for the tip!!
so you relate to neurodivergent posts but aren’t – to your knowledge – neurodivergent yourself: what do you do?
option 1. there is always the (relatively pretty likely) chance that you are neurodivegrent and it’s just gone unnoticed until now; a lot of people get late diagnoses, and a lot of people don’t realize that their experiences are at all out of the ordinary until they see others talk about it. i thought everyone was as confused about their emotions as i was, but no, turns out most people actually can pinpoint what exactly they’re feeling and why. Wild. anyways if you keep deeply relating to neurodivergent posts it could be worth looking into.
option 2. you might not be neurodivergent (and/or have that specific diagnosis) but you still relate to the post; possibly unpopular opinion, but as long as you’re aware of what the post is actually about i don’t see the problem with you reblogging it? like at all? there’s a difference between reblogging a post about time blindness or hyperfixations and being like “omg same i also do that” and using advice and stuff from those posts, and like, adding things like “oh that’s normal”/”everyone does that”.
option 3. it turns out you are mistaken and you don’t actually experience what the post was about; again, i don’t personally see the massive issue here? at best you reblogging it has spread awareness to others that a) it exists and b) it’s a Neurodivergent Thing, and like at worst it’s a regrettable post from months/years ago on your blog. i used to reblog all kinds of shit in like 2014 that today i wouldn’t touch or even actively disagree with, but you’re not actually required to go back and delete things. this is a blogging website, It’s Not That Deep.
