❝I’m not staring.❞ Jemma would have recognised her own voice had it not come out so sharp and high pitched. The only way she could have made it more obvious that she was lying was holding up a sign with the words written on it.
She couldn’t help but stare, every time she caught her gaze heading in the direction of the other woman, Jemma would try to find something else to focus on. She certainly didn’t enjoy the sinking feeling in her stomach when their eyes met and Jemma felt like she was back in that damn pod again.
