I'm so happy #hiphop exists! ❤ Yesterday I was feeling extremely tired. The only thing on my mind was to get home after work and lay on my couch but then I remembered that I had a ticket for Pusha-T's concert. I was really contemplating not going but at the end I decided to just go and I was hoping I would feel better once I'm there. Luckily I noticed a change in my energy from the moment I entered the venue. When Pusha-T started rapping I got a huge smile on my face and that smile stayed there for the rest of the night. The crowd was sooo hyped up which added to the whole vibe and made me forget how tired I was feeling just an hour before the show! The cherry on this little hiphop moment was bumping into two very sweet friends afterwards who were at the same concert but I didn't know that prior to going there. So that was a nice bonus! Earlier tonight I went to the balcony to read a book and ended up staring at the moon and how the clouds were dancing underneath it. It felt as if I had front row seats to watch the universe paint. For a moment I forgot about everything else and it was just me and the beauty I was witnessing unfold in front of me. Not sure if this picture does it any justice but that's the best I could do. Throwback: Behind the walls of the Great Mosque of Herat (Masjid-i Jama). Everytime I visit Herat I make sure to pay a visit to this mosque but usually I just walk around in the places which are visible for the crowd and leave. Last year when I went there I joined a friend on a more in depth visit of the mosque. We met the people working there, those who create the beautiful tiles and mosaics and had a talk with them. There used to be more artisans working in the mosque but since the government stopped investing money for the preservation of the site only four people are left. It's not like they earn any big money but they stayed for the mosque, because it was important to them. It was a very interesting day exactly one year ago and when I came accros these pictures I had to share them. Picture number 7 is of the old inscribed Ghorid portal (10th century A.D.), big parts of the old mosque have been destroyed during the Anglo-Afghan wars. The outer parts of the mosque have been rebuilt and restored multiple times over the years but I am glad something from its old past still remains. #afghanistan #herat #mosque #culturalheritage

International Women's Day is the perfect day to see which of the men around me are low key sexists and which women can't look beyond the comfort of their own lives and stand in solidarity with women in other situations. I have seen so many jokes online at the expense of women and the day isn't even over yet. When so many people are doing their best to come up with jokes in order to say that this day is not needed they actually prove the opposite. There are plenty of international days with different subjects but International Women's Day is the only one on which I see a big amount of active opposition against. Trust me being an ally is way better than being a bigot screaming from the sidelines and remember: flowers are nice but equality is better. *images from Tumblr but don't know the original creators.
