Β Β Β It was supposed to be an ordinary day for him. Search every nook and cranny where his cats usually congregated and give them dinner. It should've been simple, and stress free as it usually is. But, something's different. Because today there's a giant purple mass in the alley, among the many smaller, naturally colored masses he was accustomed to.
Β Β Β Ichimatsu takes a reflexive step back as the creature stumbled to full height. He can hear his heart in his skull, His chest tightening as he nearly drops the grocer's bag full of cat food and treats as he looks up at Kass. This thing could easily end him if he really wanted to. And as much of a relief it typically was to think about that, this was a completely different circumstance.
Β Β Β "Y-You're welcome." He manages, the only thing he can think to say once the gryphon speaks. Should he even be able to speak?
Β Β Β He takes notice of Kass' emaciated figure and bloody, missing feathers. "Um-" The scene is almost similar to finding an injured stray, with Ichimatsu wondering if a can of wet food would be enough to fill its belly, and if he could gain enough trust to help "Would you like so-something better to eat, though?"
Β Β Β A better question would've been if he needed any help, the second best question would be if he was injured. But instead Ichimatsu's first thought was, obviously, that the beast needed some better food than what he left out for his cats.
Kass visibly perked up at the offer and could feel the hunger gnawing away at his stomach. Cat food really was not the best way for him to get by on; he was well aware of that. He was barely getting by on the cat food, he almost looked worse off than Darigan did when he was left in a similar state. A loud rumble tore through the air, leaving the eyrie embarrassed at the sound. He was absolutely starving, it was evident.
" Yeah, I think that would be best, " he spoke softly, voice hoarse from extended periods of lack of usage. Suddenly overly conscious of his appearance, he smoothed roughened feathers back into place. He didn't typically pluck his feathers, but he has been under a lot of stress as of recent. If he was to be honest with himself, his energy still hasn't fully recovered from being the puppet for The Three and he was utterly exhausted.
For being a husk of what he once was, his mere presence was still imposing. Even lacking his rank and title, he still carried himself with the certainty of his former lordship. However, his eyes were less intense and foggy, almost lifeless.
" Apologies that I can't be of more assistance if you plan to inquire on what I eat, " he murmured and approached Ichimatsu cautiously, scarlet eyes not once leaving his gaze. He wrapped himself in bloodied wings, cooing softly, " I'm pretty much open to eating most anything at this point. "
